How can you tell if a recall service has been performed?

I am wondering if my ignition switch was ever replaced. I took it to a Ford dealer several years ago and they looked in their coputer and said it had already been done, but I am a little leary. Is there another way to check?

I know the emissions recall was taken care of because there is a sticker under the hood, but I have no guarantees that my ignition switch was replaced.

Contact the previous owner(s)?
Why would you not think it was not performed?

If its on the computer, it was done.

Thanks Darius!

Maroon - I worried about it not being done just because the previous owners never said it was, and there have been a lot of stuff here and there I have found out about the car that they either lied to me about or neglected to tell me when I purchased the car.

I am just always a little worried that something either wasn't done at all or wasn't done right unless I can actually do it myself or watch it be done.

And, even though it was in the dealer's computer as being done, I have seen this dealer blow off warranty work before on friend's vehicles. I know the recall isn't really warranty work, but since they aren't making money doing the repairs, I just could see them saying anything to get me out of their shop.

As drudis said, I think if it's in the Ford computer, it was done. The dealer could get in a world of trouble for saying it was done, and not do it. Too bad the previous owner is not much help.

Yea, thanks for the input. I guess I just needed some assurance that the dealers did in fact keep track of that stuff. Thanks guys!
