96 gt vs. 89 lx
 

in my family we have both an 89 lx 5.0 and a 96 gt 4.6. can any body tell me the horse power and torque of these cars

the 89 will be 225/300
the 96 ~i think~ will be 240/300

im not sure on the numbers with the 96 though

my freind who has a 95 gt thinks the 96 gt's have like 215 hp but im not sure because you say like 240. on the torque im pretty sure the 5.0s have more than the 4.6s. but im not totally sure.

the 96-98's only had 215hp and are slow as crap. Probably the slowest of the modern Mustangs as they had really crappy heads which were fixed in '99.

i know one motor had 240 ..was it like a 95 5.0? ..maybe? lol

The 98GT had 240HP
The 96-98Gt had 215HP
The 89GT has 225HP

All of them have right at 300 ft lbs of torque.

The 1989 LX 5.0 was rated 225hp@4200rpm, 300lb/ft@3200rpm

The 1996 GT 4.6 was rated 215hp@4400rpm, 285lb/ft@3500rpm

Oh, and btw, 1998 GT's were slightly more powerful.

225hp@4750rpm and 290lb/ft@3500rpm

The 1994-1995 Mustang Cobra made 240hp.

240hp@4600rpm, and 280lb/ft@4000rpm
