Im so jealous of all these people getting a 05' stang. I want one so badly but with my job, tuition and other things, it just isnt gonna happen this year. Everyone keeps wanting to pick a color and such and I just want to cry!

Join the club! I'm gonna have to start scrappin' for change to buy Ramen noodles after I buy books tomorrow, I'm so broke. :( College life 5uX0r5, but at least we'll be able to buy more than a Focus when we're done. Jealousy, though? Running rampant right now...

BTW, my classes start MONDAY!!! First one for me is @ 8:00AM!!! :eek:

Ouch, I dont start until the 18th. so i have a couple of days left to try and get the mustang ready for paint. Books are going to kill me too though.

We bought an 05 GT today. I have a 99 GT and the 05 is my dad's. like father like son. (Psss.....mine's faster)

The 2005 Stangs are the most silly-ass looking car I have ever seen. They are hideous and I heard Ford is having all kinds of reliability problems with them. Folks are driving off the lots by the droves to find their cars smoking and breaking down.

Rev, im insulted that you think my knowledge of cars is so shallow that i would think a 99 GT stock would lay down a better time than a stock 05 GT. the fuel cut off stock on the 99 is 143mph. most think it is 140, this is in fact wrong. the fuel cut off on the 05 is 149. so if you do the math then you would see that if they were both stock then my fathers would in fact be faster. Furthermore the only way mine could be faster is to have been modified. lol (whew....out of breath, i need a cookie)

I hope you are just kidding about being insulted, LOL. I have no experience with running against the '05 GT. I did read a HRM artical where the '05 GT "wheel hopped it's way to a 13.90 et".

I have run against some '99-01 Gt's at the track. They generally ran low 14's in near stock condition. That's the only reason I asked if your's was stock.

Maybe a short sig, listing your mods, would make things slightly more clear. Again, no insults were intended (still hoping you were just kidding about being insulted).

I would love to know what the two cars ran side by side at the track.

i was in fact joking about being insulted. lol My father and i actually are lining up against each other at the Baytown Speedway near Houston this weekend. We don't know what time his will cut but mine ran a 12.2 once (with me driving (grins with pride)) yes when the 99 GT is stock it runs about a 14.1 depending on the driver. However i am young with alot to learn and the car is heavily modified. if you insist that i list all my mods for you then request my doing so in an email or private message.good call on that. props for you

My classes started on the 10th. Its awful, my first class is at 8:00 am and to top it off its SPANISH!!!! But I am done before 12 each day. I hope everyone is enjoying their classes! Good Luck!

I've been saving up for years and been doing my research
(That and having to endure owning/driving some older,slower cars)
to be able to afford my new 2005 Mustang GT (premium pkg, 5-spd).

I've been waiting forever for my first *REAL* car and I'm very happy with it. Don't worry, just save your money up for later... I'm sure the Cobra version (2007) should be something to wait for. :D
