Quality is Job 1?

I'm a little agitated with FOMOCO right now over the "quality" of my Mustang. I'm going to list all the problems I've had with my stang since I bought it 10 months ago:

Synchronizer goes out in third
Oxygen sensor harness wiring replaced because when installed some genius pinches the wiring between back tranny mount and crossmember
Check engine light comes on and stays on at 5000 miles
Engine replaced at 11000 miles because of two chips in back left part of block where left side head bolts up.
Check engine light still on
Drivers side window will not roll up on hot days, have to wait until nightfall before it will roll up.
Frame seperates above rear end housing...told car is extremely dangerous to drive.
I am told by my dealer that there is a rumor that there have been a couple of other Mustangs with the same frame problem as mine and FOMOCO has replaced the vehicles and then preceded to crush the problem cars. I have also been told that my car will also be replaced and I am awaitng for Ford to get in touch with me. I am considering speaking with a lawyer to see if Ford is liable for more than a replacement. I have invested almost a $1000.00 in my car and will need my mods transfered or reimbursed for the money spent. I also figured that if you can sue Micky D's because your stupid *** spilled coffee on yourself maybe I can get a free car out of this.
I told my service rep that if I wanted a piece of **** I would have bought a Chevrolet.
I'm pissed because I love my car and they've got me driving a ******* Focus for the last two weeks.
Oh well...has anybody else heard anything on a problem with the frames on 2001 Mustangs? I'm trying to build a case.:D

That is tough luck, as for Ford they should really get on this before they start to build a bad name for themselves. I've never really known anyone to have trouble with Mustangs, hope ya get something out of this. Maybe try talking to someone in Head Office and see how far that gets you and demand what your looking for, if you get no where go to talk to a laywer and see what he suggests and if you have a case. Either way, best of luck.

I'd be shooting for a '03 Cobra

TruBluePony 07-15-2002 08:23 AM

Thanks guys and I have thought about shooting for a 2003 Cobra as compensation. I think it will all depend on how serious Ford feels this problem is...if it's widespread or what. From what I've seen and what my dealer tells me it may be a problem with the metal itself. If that's so I would believe if wind of this gets out there may be quite a few folks getting their cars replaced. So it all depends on the bottom line......does Ford want to give me what I want...about $35000 for a new Cobra or shell out millions in a recall. But I may be getting ahead of myself. They should be getting in touch with me sometime this week. I'll post what I find out.
