Remember the electric supercharger debate?

Check out this BS Electric turbo adds 60 HP Damn ricers will buy anything:rolleyes:

Cool! I can't wait for the fake plastic version, for $4.00 so you can look like you have an electric supecharger ;) :D :D It will match the fake intercooler.

tireburner163 09-16-2002 11:35 AM

....sad......so very sad

jj_jonathon 09-16-2002 12:33 PM

lmao...even the seller knows that the buyer's names should be kept confidential, its a private auction so you don't look so dumb...bwuaha

The real sad part is that dumba$$es are bidding on this crap.

Last week at the track, I had a guy in a Honda Del-slow looking at my engine when he turns to me and said "so it's supercharged, right?" I told him yeah, and it run 9's all day long...then he says "Really!?!?"

Unreal.

There are about 20-30 electric superchargers for sale on E-bay right now and lots of morons are bidding on them.

Hammer 09-16-2002 03:05 PM

This stuff isn't just sad... actually it kinda pisses me off...

Also, What they're trying to do is more like a supercharger than a turbo.

I mean, if all it took to have a working supercharger\turbo on any car was a small electric fan, Vortech and Procharger would be out of business....

The scary thing is if you read the "instructions" on ebay they call the induction system the "intake". These guys are supposed to be tuners! They say that the "best" gains will be had using an "aftermarket intake system"... ie cold air kit.

No wonder these guys are so delusional when the so called "experts" tell them this crap....

Someone who knows the "ins" and "outs" of this stuff needs to call or email Progressive Tuners and give them crap...

By the way, does anyone have that hair dryer pic? I'm thinking about emailing them a pic saying... Nice Product... not...

The Deuce 09-16-2002 04:47 PM

Y'all are just haters, cuz I got one for $200. I fugure that's about $.50 per hp on my phat ride, cuz I gots skilz.

Hilarious, but does kind piss me off that some *** is trying to pull a fast one. Just because someone is stupid, doesn't mean they should be taken advantage of... unless they are ricers...Wait?!?!

I am torn, not sure where I stand :).

Thanks,

I think what we forget is that it is possible to make an electric supercharger work on extremely small displacement motors. Any engine that you can feel a different level of strain from each fan speed with and without the drag of A/C, it may be very possible to increase flow with a little fan.

Not saying that it will have the numbers that it says, but I've seen stranger things happen.

Now if I could only figure out where to strap it onto my 46.

Deuce... Buddy...

You do realize that we WILL have to flog you if that piece of crap goes anywhere near your engine.

The lengths that some of these ricers will go to to not ACTUALLY work on their cars is amazing to me.

Cold air kits, fake blow off valves, fake intercoolers, spray painting everything inside the doors and putting colored tape everywhere on the body.... and now the electric turbo...

Its sad, and its just one more reminder to me that MUCH of this crap will be going bye-bye when these kids start to have to work from 9 to 5 and pay a mortgage....

Will it be too close if I rip it off some kids car and run it over with my front tires? Cuz if it is, I may have to just spin the backs over it.:D

The only electric fans that get near my car are 1 attached to the radiator, and 2. the one I set up to blow across it and cool it down when I need to work in a hurry.

If they can make it that far, then they will have come a long, long way.

You guys are living in a dream world. I think these morons are going to live at home forever and who needs a job when Mommy and Daddy pay for everything??

1969Mach1 09-17-2002 10:09 AM

lol that is so sad.... Those ricers will buy anything, I say you put the blow dryer in your engine (Where ever the f--k you want to put it) and set it to the cold setting and call it a cold air intake. Those ricers will believe anything. Someone actually bought that thing for $182.50 and 15 people bid on it. I don't know if it's funny or sad. I guess aslong as it doesn't go on a domestic car it's funny. :D :D :D

If I was a moron with to much money I would buy it just to see what this thing actually does, then return it to the company in person when I shove it up there ***.

The Deuce 09-17-2002 11:19 AM

What I find most interesting about this situation, is that no one has bid on the ones for Mustang's and Camaro's. If you look at the other auctions, most are bid on, but those two are not.

Hmm, wonder why?:D
