Old Shcool Mits beats Stang
I know I will start a few Fires but here you go any how. The Mustng is mine with a friend driving it so he is not used to it and to boot was frist time to the track for him. I Drove the Mits (Conquest) thats a 1989 the last year it is a Rear wheel Drive 4cly Trubo. Next I need to give my friend a bit of slak as the Clutch cable was way out of agjustment.

If it was a Mitsubishit, then it was the Starion. My grandad had a Dodge Conquest. Car was pretty darn fast. But the computer took a crap, and he had to crush it. Was pretty beat down by then anyway.
Looks like you only beat him because he was asleep at the tree. 1.303 to a .662, with an et gap of only .386? Had he cut anything under a .950, you'd a lost. Still, a win's a win.

yes a Starion is mits But the Conquest only says Dodge Conquest there are the same car NO diff whats so every. I think you read it wrong the Quest ran a 13.8 and the stang got a 14.2 the time starts after your reaction time that dont matter in your ET only in the end of the 1/4 well I might have really messed you up now but the reation time dont matter in your ET at all only in the over all win loss time they show at the end.

I know its the same car, I was just being difficult. I was thinking the ET clock started with the lights, not when you trip the beam. My mistake. Never did spend any time at the track with my Escort, although the shop is convinced otherwise. I got accused of overreving it.
Nice win, and the mits looks clean. How many miles on it?

impressive! now what would happen if your friend got similiar times that you got with your Mits? hmmm... arent they both your cars anyway?
i always dug the Starion/Conquest body style. really wide tires and fender flares. the only thing i dont like is the Mits mill under the hood. i never liked any Mits mill no matter what it is in. but still nice car!

I like the Starion/Conquest body styles too. I almost bought one back in highschool, but I could barely fit in the thing and my sister said it was too fast. It was a good thing I didn't get one as I was used to driving a Civic wagon at the time, probably would have killed myself.
What kind of mods were done to the Starion?

That's funny - I was looking to buy a Conquest when I was in high school, too, but the insurance rating index was 26, compared to 13 for '84 5.0 LX I ended up getting. Glad it worked out that way because that '84 is what started me on all this Mustang madness...
By the way, that race is a perfect example of how much difference 60' times make. That stang should be in the 13s with 100mph trap.

WHat mods did the mits have? I never knew they were that fast stock. I used to beat my ex co-wrokers conquest with my bolt-on GT pretty bad.

well it has a well Free/Cheap mods......... Open EX for one WITH LOTS of Port work /Stock Cat Shell I opened it up about .5in and ported the trubo and Run 20Psi with all els stock really... as Far as we know it is the Fastest Stock one out there... getting it dynoed Sat. I can run faster then most Moded ones hehehe it is just how you drive them really I say that because MOST can get a 14's but they dont know how to drive it shift early about 5K 5100 MAX Never go under 3200K I have stuff like a Bypass and stuff and shift Fast and Have NO boost lose MORE boost on a shift even will hit about 20-23Psi there ported Intake it is the little stuff that matters when all added up. I am working On a DRag one as we speak as well hehehe so I will have a street drove Mustang and a Track Import thats a bit Backword......... I still love the stang but to be the best with a Mustang well good luck But a import there is FAR less Comp and I have a real Chance to get some where with a Import. and it is not the Norm. Ithere Not no Front wheel drive all Loud sound No go car. and most are not the best drivers Ithere so thats a plus as well I have not one any thing yet Only raced in one even Friend got frist Place a few weeks ago tho And got Some $$$$ thats all ways fun!!!
