Re: roll cages
Comp engineering makes a good kit that will "fit" in a fox body. I always end up tweaking them to get them to fit nicer, but they'll work good right outta the box.
NHRA/IHRA are pretty strict as far as cage regualtions go. Not sure how the corner carver guys are though. Maybe get a rulebook from each sanction you want to play with, and figure out a happy medium. I'm gonna guess if you build one to NHRA/IHRA specs, you'll be good to go on the circuit as well.

Re: roll cages
Look at the one I installed in my 1989 Mustang.
Follow this link for MANY MANY more photos. http://www.dariusrudis.com Look into how others have done it, BEFORE you finish welding!!! Things to watch: Mount main hoop on the floor, or rear subframe (allows for more legroom). Diagonals may affect headrest. Doorbraces fit above/below your elbow. Rear downtubes in an X-pattern or straight back, then mounted to rear shocktower or frame...

Re: roll cages
Great info from Drudis, but that is a perfect example of the differences, and what to watch for. In straight line racing, the main hoop MUST NOT be more than 5" (don't quote me on that, just an example) from the driver's head, and the doorbars MUST pass the driver between the shoulder and the elbow.
Here's a pic of mine: (More at: http://knights-rule.com/Bill_stang.html) For drag racing, I wasn't too concerned about the rear shock towers, but I definitely tied them to the frame. I also wanted to keep the back seat for those Saturday trips to Bruster's for ice cream. Like Drudis said, do your homework, look around, make sure what you want/need. THEN start welding.

http://www.maximummotorsports.com/mmdrrb.asp I like the idea of removable door bars, as I drive my as much as I can on the street.
