Saleen vs. Roush

If you had the money which would you choose, a Stage III Roush or a S281 SC? (Both '01 or '00 model year)

As far as appearance, it's Saleen for me. They just look faster and meaner. As far as performance goes, I'd just be guessing.

What are the hp and other performance numbers between the two?

There are too many different stages and variations of these cars for me to keep track of. I'd probly make my descision based on performance and options.

I'm just to lazy to go and look up the numbers myself. ha

I'd take the Roush stage 3 just for something different, you don't see too many of them around. There are a lot of saleens around, so just to be different I guess.

I love the look of the Saleens, but I'll take the Roush. I have more faith in their quality and service.

Chalk one more up for Roush. Light Em Up!!! http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif

From my limited research on the net, the Saleen S281 SC has 350 HP and the Stage III Roush has 390 HP. They both have suspension upgrades and body kits and stuff. I'm not sure which one is better though. I like the look of the Saleen, but I also think that the Roush would probably be rarer and it has some more jam (40 HP).

I was actually just at the Saleen site yesterday, because I am getting anxious about my Cobra on order and was checking out other options. According to their site, the S281-SC has 365 hp, although it is still less than the Roush, but take a look at their performance chart at http://www.saleen.com/auto/S281/281.htm The Saleen is hot looking, I just went to see a Roush at my dealer, it isn't as sleek looking. It really depends on what you are looking for in your car?

Thanks, I see that. It has been awhile since I have been to that site http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif. I think the Saleen looks better, but the Roush would be more rare, and does have a slight power advantage. I don't know if I could choose.

How many people here have a newer Saleen or Roush?

Roush's are rare, being that you don't see many on the road. But something about the fact that i can go down to my local ford dealership and pick one up bothers me. I would rather have the saleen anyways despite the hp differance.

I love the look of the Roush mustangs. If I had the money that would be the first car I would buy.

Get the Roush...it has more power and you can always get a Saleen kit or a different body kit in the future if you don't like the looks of it. Also like was mentioned above, Saleens(and Saleen imposters) are everywhere...you rarely see a Roush.

Hey....who forgot Steeda? Not that they're all that great, but a fully optioned Steeda has more power than both the Saleen and the Roush. And how many have seen one on the street? On a "looks" basis, it'd be the Roush. Of course, the Roush Stage III voids a manufacturers warranty. I dunno about the Saleen SC, but I know that the regular S281s are still under Ford warranty. I LOVE the Roush side pipes too. Ahhh choices.

Roush! I've only seen one of these on the street(sn95 stage 1, actually raced him and won) and love the way they look and the side pipes sound awesome!

Another vote for ROUSH but after seeing the MSRP for the StageIII.

AAGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!

Steeda is a great alternative as long as you know what parts you want on your car and you have a clear vision for its use.

I'm partial to ROUSH for obvious reasons but Steeda has a lot of appeal since I'm more prone for the sleeper effect.
