Saleen wanna be's >>>>>
Why the hell would you want to put Saleen all over your GT and get this, vinyl Saleen letters on the seat backs.
I know you guys here have more brains than the guy we saw at a local car meet. Lizard King can attest to this. Man what a joke. He also has no balls to run us either. Ya know if he took the stuff off he would have a nice honest looking car. My car says "Steeda" across the windshield, and says, "G-trac Suspension" over the side badges, but I do have steeda parts on my car. I left off the full steeda graphics package, cause I thought that would be overdoing it. Have I already gone too far, though?

I see that junk all the time. Some of it is alright, and as posted above, if you you actually run the parts it is justified.

Oh man, I hate to see post '93 Gts or V6s with cobra grill or badges. Especially when a Gt w/ some flowmasters puts Cobra badges and grill, ets on the car cause then they get beat by something that won't usually beat a Cobra and gives the Cobra guys cars a bad name or makes them look weak.

Huge white tape striping all over the sides, hood, rear bumper, gay chrome clip on crap, and a huge Albanian eagle covering the entire rear window, Albanian plate frame, vanity plate that says "GONAJ" or Gonad or something. There's a V6 mustang near my house that's lowered, has white Cobra R style wheels and saleen written on every surface and in every orifice (ok, not quite), but with it's 6' tall wing and clear rear lenses and dual exhaust it sounds and looks VERY ricey. It's obviously not a Saleen because it's a an automatic V6 and i'm pretty damn sure that they don't come with cobra badges on the fenders either.

I just got the rest of the Saleen body kit for my '00 GT, but you won't find a single sticker on it.
Should be getting my new Torque Thrust II's anyday now also - 17x9.5 up front and 17x11 out back. We'll just have to see how big of a back tire I can fit in there... |

#1. Concerning the Cobra fakes. I had one when I was 17. Sometimes its all you can have, and why does other people's business and/or cars matter anyways? If YOUR Cobra is fast enough, there should be no worries about getting a "bad name".
#2. I agree with overdoing it. I have a Saleen kit on my car, and not one single Saleen sticker, decal, badge etc. I've actually shaved everything off. A REAL SALEEN: They have the ID plates. one on the shifter plate, and one on the passenger side firewall(87-93's) and the driver side firewall(94+), they have the number in the front driver side bumper, and also for a fool proof secret area, they have the number stamped on the cross member under the car. You will still find fakes though, but the 100% way to tell is to call up Saleen and ask to speak with Liz Saleen, and have her run the VIN for you. There were also some GT saleens made in 90 and 93, I just bought my old one back. They are called GT Sports, and just consise of the Racecraft suspension and a registration, a spoiler, and the old ARE 16" wheels. They aren't as popular as the other's though because they have the boxy GT ground effects. I didn't even know they existed until I saw one for sale, and I called Liz, ran the #'s and it was good.
I just got through converting my 89 GT into a Saleenized car....Just suspension, and I bought my heads, rockers, and interior from them, so if you all want you can bash me for that, but like Steve says "Duplication is the greatest compliment" I DO agree however that if you have just a plain GT and put Saleen or Steeda badges and stickers on them, you are a imposter, but if you DO buy their stuff and use it, Stickers is kinda like advertising?? right? Another thing, is a few idiots try to claim they have saleens and forget to remove the GT badges. I caught a guy that way once.
Also the Fox Saleens have 4 wheel disc 5 lug brakes. I was almost convinced by one guy at the street races till he had 4 lug. Also the gauges and shift knob, but those are the most over looked things. Also 94-95 side stripes on older fox saleens. From what I have seen, the '96+ Saleens have the horse fender badge like the one that came on '99s.
