Should Have Been on "COPS"

Get this...

Andrea and I are sitting on the couch waiting for SNL to start when we heard a loud noise from outside our home. I get up and look out the blinds to see a wrecked SUV about 20 feet from my door! http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...gboard/eek.gif

I went outside to check on whoever was in the wreck as Andrea called 911 and a guy is running toward my door. I ask him if he's OK. He says "yeah" and keeps on running/stumbling past me and around the back of my condo. http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...d/confused.gif I follow him to see what the deal is and watch as he hops the fence and stumbles across my neighbor's yard and collapses next to their house.

Just about then, I hear the cop cars pull up, so I ran back to the front of my place to get one of them. They're looking for someone up and down my street as I direct them behind my place. Three cops come running back toward the fence with me and find the guy I saw running earlier.

They "escort" http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...board/wink.gif him back to a cruiser and as we get there his truck is now fully engulfed in flames! A lot of flames!

One of the cops grabs a fire extinguisher and starts toward the flaming wreck before realizing that a single fire extinguisher ain't gonna cut it. The fire trucks are stuck at the nearby intersection where the guy must have caused another wreck, so his trcuk continues to melt snow around us. http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...gboard/eek.gif

It turns out he ran a car through the 7-11/Citgo at 11 and Dequindre, caused 4 accidents on the way to my place (15 and Ryan), and had ~6 cop cars trying to follow him!

The saddest part of all this is that he had a Beagle with him that got out of the truck when he fled and never wanted to come back either. I guess the dog wised up... can't say I blame the dog for not wanting to hang out with the guy anymore after the chase, four wrecks, and a bonfire.

Oh man. Something like that kinda happened to me and my friend coming back from the dragstrip. At an intersection, we see some patrol cars coming towards us from the opposite direction an cut on their lights. They blocked us from turning left. Then down the road (little less than quarter mile) we see this one small car being chased by a whole line of patrol cars all flashing blue lights (at LEAST 10 cars chasing and a DUI van). All of them flew passed us and I could see the driver in the get-away car's face. He looked really involved/concentrated on his driving. (I was wondering what was going through his mind http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...ard/tongue.gif).

What angered me most was the fact that we had just got finished recording some cars at the strip w/ video camera and I didn't think about cutting it on until after they passed!!! I was so pissed at myself that I had to just put it out of my mind (could've gotten some $$ for tape at local news station)

I had the cops tear down my street once. I live on 11 Mile road on a canal(for you metro detroit people) and one night these two guys that came from Detroit had stolen a car and came into St. Clair Shores from the freeway(696).

Anyway the S.C.S. cops pulled in behind them and had their in car cameras rolling as the guys got to the end of my street and since it dead ends at the lake they had no where to go so they ended up crashing through a chain link fence and into the city marina.

They went about 10 feet and ...Splash...right in the water. Cops jumped in and got them. They showed the cop car footage on all the news channels. Turns out the idiots thought they were headed for Canada not realizing they were about 18 miles of open water away.

I though it was funny and if you looked REAL close you could see my mailbox on the news as the cops sped by. http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...board/cool.gif

Cops, huh? Was the guy wearing a wife-beater tank top, dolphin shorts, and flip-flops? That's the only way to get on Cops. I was actually sort of the object of one of those once. I had a particularly bad night a couple years ago (one of the worst of my life, actually) and was returning home. I was just plain pissed/depressed and was taking it out on my car on the 69 interchange here in KC doing about 125mph. I guess I didn't realize there was a state trooper behind me with his lights on and whatnot (it was 3am) and by the time I did he had radioed for backup. Moral of the story: Women make you do evil things. Hahaha. Just kidding (but they really do).

are you talking to me? if so, yeah it sucked soooooo bad. like, as soon as i rearended the lady, i screamed '*****' as loud as i could then went and sat on the curb and cried. seriously. and it was in front of one the the highschools in my town at like 330 so EVERYONE there was just getting out of school and saw me do it. totally sucked. and what made it even worse is i had just left my auto body collision repair votech class and i had just spent like 4 hours erasing the red 80's pin stripe off my car and this huge black decal a previous owner had put on the top of the rear spoiler and i had just replaced the tensioner pulley which had been squeeking really bad for 2 weeks and i re-adjusted the stops on my shifter so i was feeling pretty good cruising in my mustang, clicking my shifter into gear, squeek free and clean. GAAAHHHHHHHH IT SUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try coming home and finding a car parked in you kitchen. That sucked bad. Although I thank God nobody was home. What made it worse was I got all kinds of crap from the insurance company like i was at fault or something. Oh well all is good now I got a brand new kitchen.

Funny you should mention a car in the kitchen.....This is our old apt back home. We were home, and so was the unfortunate "catcher" . Lucky for him he was asleep in the livingroom, and not making a BLT.
I actually had to pull a chunk of fence off her car to get her out.

Go out to HRP on Friday "street night" races. The only trailer hitches will be on the tow vehicles that pull the trailered "track only drag cars". Lots of street vehicles too. It's a blast. Please don't be insulted, LOL.

Funny, that looks like my computer room a couple of weeks ago. I was playing Tiger Woods on my computer, and all of a sudden, I thought someone was trying to blow up my house. i ran outside to see a white 88 lincoln towncar driving away. Lets just say that I'm glad my house is about 50 years old, and not a new one, or he would have been in my lap.

You can see in one of the pics where the impact broke the wall inside is less than 3' from where I was sitting at the computer. Talk about being freaked out!!!! The second pic was taken after we had moved the desk away from the wall. It normally sits in the corner against the walls.

you said the guy that hit your house just drove away? did he think that you wouldn't notice his town-car sized hole in your house?

Actually, he ended up coming back about 4 days later. Very strange situation. His 17 year old cousin had been murdered in houston a couple of days earlier, and that was the day he found out. He says he doesnt remember hitting the house, but swears up and down he was sober. Either way, its been taken care of, and he gave me his insurance information, and appologized about 100 times, so I'm not mad. It is good to know you can find someone though. At first, all I had was his liscense plate thanks to my neighbor who was outside and witnessed the whole thing. From there, I found his name and po box number, the year of his car, and how much he paid for it. With that, once I found the right person to ask, within 5 minutes I had an addy in Baytown (where I live) for him, and an addy in Hankamer (a few towns over where his mother lives) as well as phone numbers for both. I went to the apartments in Baytown, camera, maglight, and big knife in hand, looking for the car. Dont worry though, the knife was only for personal protection as the apartments are in the ghetto and I didnt know what kind of person I may have to deal with if he came out with me taking pics of his car. I couldnt find the car. Next on my list was his mothers house, and the next day when I planned to pay them a visit, he showed up at my house. All the while, the cops werent doing jack s**t about s**t. Go figure. They still only had a po box for him, and when I tried to give them the two addy's, they were more concerned about how I obtained the information instead of using the information. You do their legwork for them, and they still wont do anything.

Sorry for the rant and thread jack, everytime I tell the story I get a little flustered.
