Talking Shoulder driver gets BUSTED

I was driving down I-40 to see the NC State football game around 4:45 pm on Thursday. I-40 is two lanes around Durham. Between 4:30 and 6:30 pm this area is usually a parking lot. Thursday was no exception. I was in the left lane, doing 5mph, and up in the distance I see a nice, new Camaro with lettering on the tail.
As I moved closer I made out "State Trooper" in small white letters on the back. Moved up beside him and in nice grey lettering, etc, was NC State Trooper. This car looks BONE STOCK and you can't tell from a distance that it is a cop. I gave him a wave as we sat in traffic. He moved about two cars ahead of me in the right lane, still at about 5 mph. THEN....

A newer chevy monte carlo or impala, type car is passing everyone on the right lane shoulder. The State Trooper lights his car up ( like a damx christmas tree) and peels out after this guy. About two minutes later I passed the guy looking pissed as he sat on the side of the road. (I would assume getting a ticket).
Anyway, if you ride the curb in a traffic jam, beware.
And if you live in NC, watch out for stock looking Camaros!!!!

Later!

Virginia State Troopers are using Plain Jane cars in Southern VA, primarily on Rt. 81. They expect to expand thru the whole state in the near future.

These cars have no additional external antennas. Emergency lights are mounted in the front of the side-view mirrors, and a high-intensity mini-light bar in the upper windshield on the passenger side.

No lettering is on the front or back of the car, just the doors. They are of various makes, models and colors. The Troopers drive with their hats off.

So, basically, if you are in front or back of one of these cars, you wouldn't know it's a Trooper.

Sneaky!!!

A couple of months ago I was in the left exit lane of the freeway here in Houston. It had a solid white line for some time before the exit which is almost always a little crowded. Anyways, a BMW M5 came barrel-assing past and forced his way into the exit lane. Ha, ha, ha, I laughed my a$$ off when he got pulled in by a black motorcycle officer at the exit. I actually honked and gave a "thumbs up". Not what I usually do when someone gets stopped. In this case, I figured it was warranted.

Up here in seattle, since most people are @ssholes, there are a lot of road rage specific units (isn't this ridiculous, now the cops have to look out for road rage....anyways,) I had a friend who was driving behind two cars and one person was tailgating the other one because it cut him off and apparently the guy was honking and flicking the other guy off during like 25mph traffic. A VOLVO, yes that's right, a VOLVO cop unit pulled the guy over that was in the next lane. That car is actually quite well known around here, i've had friends i've never talked to before about it mention it. There are ALOT of unmarked units in crown vics, I've seen a couple of police expeditions in the shop i work at, and i've also seen a cop car painted yellow like a taxi cab. I'm not BSing any of this either, cops are getting real smart at being stealth. Most of the undercover type road rage units don't do traffic enforcement, so they usually only pull over people who are doing excessively stupid things (at least this is what my friend who was a police explorer told me), thank god.

I've seen marked Jeep Cherokees and Ford F-150's on the highway here in Texas (usual is Crown Vic's). Also marked LS1 Camaros as persuit cars (used to be Mustangs, sniff, sniff) here in Houston.

I wish folks would put where they're from in their ID so it would be easier to know what area you are referring to at a glance.

I don't know if it's State wide or not, but in my area they drive d@mn near anything. I've seen them in Blazers, Yukons, Camaros, Mustangs, Grand Ams, etc.

I have even seen a State boy that drives his own personal car around. It's an 89 GT and it has a few mods on it with the addition of a few antennae. Very scary stuff.

In NC, I've seen the new Impalas, Jeep Cherokee, Crown Vic, Chev Caprice Classics, and a Suburban. The newest interceptors are the Camaros.
Sure was a lot easier to spot them when all they drove were fords!
