I hear ya bud. We've got about 5" on the ground right now. Maybe some more coming on Saturday. I haven't driven the stang in over two weeks except to take it to the barn to replace the heater core. Oh, I also got the exhaust gaskets replaced (man...GearWrenches are absolute life savers for that last passenger side header bolt!).

I tried to take my car out about a month ago when we had a 2-3" snow one night. All I wanted to do was get to the mall to buy some cookies for my then pseudo g/f (don't ask...long story) who wasn't feeling too spry. The mall is about one mile from my house. It took me an hour to get there and a bit more to get back. I got stuck twice...once going up a very slight hill with no chance to build momentum back to my appartment. Seeing as how the front tires have much more tread than the back, and I didn't have any cement bags to throw in the back, the front wheels stopped while the back wheels didn't....well, you can see where that gets you on smooth packed snow.

Anyway, the result is that I swore off driving the stang in snow or ice ever again. I ended up buying my grandmother's old '91 Geo Prism. That car drives like a snowcat in ice and gets over 30mpg! It's pale blue, it's an econo-box, and it will ruin my reputation in Amarillo, but it has heat and saves money.

Anyway, I'm rambling because I'm bored...stuck at home...don't work until tonight.

Good luck with getting to see Firebird girl. I hope things work out for you. Have fun and be safe.
