I voted for 16, but it's really hard to say. I was driving before I was 16, although I didn't get my license until sometime after I was 17. I was drinking long before I was 21, and that birthday didn't really mean much. Turning 18 was probably the most serious, but I didn't realize it at the time. I was such a bad teenager that I was fully convinced that I was invincable long before turning 18. It wasn't until after I turned 18 that I came to the conclusion that one of the reasons I felt invincable was the fact that the LAPD didn't want to waste their time on kids that would just have their wrists slapped. Once I turned 18, it felt like the LAPD was watching my every move. I got into alot of trouble, and at 18, I had to be responsible for it. That took some getting used to.

25, 30 and 35 were all biggies to me too, as I suspect 40 will be, but I suppose turning 16 was the coolest. Back then I thought 19 was old, and 17 was too cool. Now I think of pre-30 as kids, sort of. I've got to admit, though, I know quite a few pre-30 year olds (mostly here) that are much more together than many of my 40+ year old friends.

Go figure.

Take care,
-Chris
