Yeah, I consider the Novi 1000 a bolt-on entry-level supercharger. I think this blower is perfect for a stock HCI (heads, cam, intake) 5.0 or 4.6.

If I had skyler's combo and I was dead-set on getting a Novi then I would go for the Novi 2000 and that's that...I don't care if I'd have to save for another year...that's the best novi blower to get for his combo..period. Sure the Novi 1000 could make 425rwhp (or more)...but what about 500rwhp.....or 600rwhp? Is this blower capable of growing with your desire for more power? Another reason to go w/ the 2000 is efficiency.....16lbs of boost from a Novi 1000 isn't going to give you as much as 16lbs of boost from the 2000 unit.

FYI, I remember reading an article in one of the rags about this dude who either had a 302 or 351 stroker (something like a 347 or 372 or something like that). He actually got REAL crazy and went with a Novi 3000!! People think that the 3000 is race-only but he happily ran 16lbs of boost...and...if he desired....1,000hp was only a pulley change away.

Just my $.02
