You're right it did. The engine has 120,000 miles on it and the owner was a heavy line tech for ford and he was the cause of the problem. The bearings had lots of score marks but the oil pressure was around 30 at idle and it didn't have a knock. I could have driven it the way it was probably for another 20,000 miles but they did need replacement since one bearing was down to the copper with the score marks on that one journal. The oil pump was fine as well as the cylinders/rings, he just left enough scotch brite pad abrasive in the engine to put slight scoring into the crank. I had a crank laying around (the old crank was fine, i could've had it turned for $50 or even polished) and the bearings were $50 for the whole set of Main and rod bearings. The rod bearings were fine, it was just that the #2 main bearing was horrible, #1 and 3 were kinda worn and #4 and 5 were fine. I just happened to have pulled the worst ones and got pissed off. Any car that inexpensive will need work done to it, don't think i'm saying that you can get a perfect car for that price, but i did have to put a little bit of work and money into it, but i'm still well WAY ahead of what i would have payed for a car in equal condition without the leak.

1/2 of my friends that are in debt paying for cars right now found out that they have quite a few problems and they can't really afford to fix them.

My car is 90% re-assembled and shouldn't have any other problems since i've gone over the car bumper to bumper to see if he messed anything else up, but it looks good.

Most cars you find for a good deal is usually for a reason, but you can also find cars full price that have problems you can't forsee as well.

Do whatever you feel like doing, i was just suggesting alternatives.
