Unhappy Sympathy and reflection

Marty:

I'm was sorry to learn of the passing of your aunt but I'm also glad that you were able to straighten things out with her beforehand. I hate cancer. I've lost family members and one or two friends because of it, one recently.

Marty, one of the things Christianity teaches is that we're just passing through here, this world is not our home. As we mature and see older relatives (and sometime younger people) die from various causes, this fact becomes more apparent. If nothing else, it should - as you have - make us at least consider that these 70 or so years (often much less) fly by and then...what? The bible has one answer, the only one, in my opinion but the point is that tragedy and loss - while sad, even depressing - can also lead to a better awareness of the real important things in life.

I know you'll be fine but please accept my sympathy for your loss.

Jim
