I'm sure there is point to this waste of MW's bandwidth - but I have yet to see it.

Here's an idea: If anyone doesn't like what other people post and have nothing to add to the discussion, than simply ignore the thread. I do this quite often. It's a real time-saver.

This whining over the alleged 'hijacking' of a not terribly interesting thread (about who 'hates' what) is getting ridiculous. Hey, it's the internet: we're on a public messageboard. This isn't a private text-message exchange. That a (mostly dead) thread about what we supposedly 'hate' received few responses and also generated a few lengthy posts about the pros and cons of being a messageboard moderator (I'm not - by choice) is no big deal. Why all the angst? , Let's keep messageboard exchanges in perspective. I like messageboards and expressing my opinions but I don't take any of this stuff very seriously anymore. Life is just too short.
