Sell it, for all the good reasons already stated in previous posts.

As for selling it, well, you can place a private ad but have the ring appraised first and use that to determine the price.
The bad news is that jewelry has a huge, huge mark-up and whatever you paid you won't get back, or anything close to it. Pawn shops give you about 10% of the value so that isn't a great way to go, unless you have to for quick cash. A diamond broker may be your best bet, if you can locate one. Again, don't expect to recoup much of the purchase price, but some cash is better than a ring that no one, including you, seems to want.
