Actually that's bearly true. The US population growth is bearly above the rate of self sustention, and that will drop sharply as the last generation of baby boomers + 1 go beyond child rearing age, combined with a steady economic boom combined with the growth of the suburban spraw, which is in itself a product of the lessingly of the average house hold size, ie more single parents.
