The law in Florida is 16 with parental consent, but you would have to be stupid to get married that young or marry someone that young (I'm sure there are exceptions).
I got married to my ex-wife when she was 17 and it was the biggest mistake of my life.
I don't think it is right what they did to that boy, I think that is bull $hit and if it were my son I would fight that decision for as long as it took.
BTW: I was 18 when I lost mine.
