i saw the movie last night as well, and i had to buy tickets at 3:00pm for a 7:10 movie just to make sure i got a stupid ticket. anyway, it took about 15 mins for me to get annoyed with the way those wind-up toys sounded. that was about the only realistic thing in the movie.
as far as the movie itself, i'll give credit to the lead actors who weren't all bad. Even though he resorted to being in this movie, Vin Diesel is still a favorite actor of mine and he did a good job i thought. the rest of them eh, so-so. even though the races and chases were unrealistic, they were entertaining. and yea really, like the guy could mess with his laptop at 120mph. and the way the NOS flowed, it seemed like it was an endless supply. i have no idea if it is possible, but can those little things actually go 120-140mph? i seriously have no clue.
and back to the way those things sounded, i could hardly breath until the mad 900hp beast at the end was cranked up. THAT is true power right there. and one more thing, do ricers drive everywhere in packs like they did in the movie? lol
besides gone in 60 seconds, there MUST be a movie with nothing but high-powered muscle-cars kicking asphalt. THAT would be a must see.
oh and on the night of the opening (friday night), i was on my way home and all of a sudden i see a pack of oversized micro-machines with neon lights heading the opposite way. there were at LEAST 20-25 of them. so on the way past them i put the clutch in and revved it at about 5k until i was past them. no point to it really but it was fun hanging out the window, laughing and pointing at the whole group. lol. pointless, but fun nonetheless.
out of 10, i rate this movie at about a 6 in the entertainment area. as far as realism, about a 2. and the acting, about a 6. that's a grand total of 14 out of 30. compared to the 25 i give gone in 60 seconds.
