Bringing the Marines in at the end was the smartest thing anyone did during all 3 movies. Finally they recognize the danger involved with those dinosaurs and send in something that can handle it. FYI the Navy can be anywhere in the world within 24 hours, and were probably much closer to the island when the call was made. You can see it's getting dark when the Professor made the call and it's in the morning/afternoon when the marines arive, so that's well within their reaction time.

The Spinosaurus is by no means a 'new' dinosuar. It's existance has been known about before WW2. Berlin had the worlds best preserved Spino skeleton but that was destroyed when the bombing started in the war. I have no idea how big it really is in real life though.

Velociraptor is the wrong name for those man-sized 'raptor' like dinosaurs. In fact they are more likely dromeosaurs, just like raptors only man-sized. So Foxtrot is correct but I believe the movies used velociraptor because the name is cooler.

If you don't believe me, a lot of this info is available on the jurrasic park website itself (they admitt their own mistakes) but the site has a shite design.

For the movie's credit, I liked it much more than Lost World.
