![]() Oops, that would be "existence" or maybe the title could be "Proof that God has a sense of humor".
That thread about the dumb and funny things we've done with our Mustangs got me to thinking about some of the funniest things I ever saw related to people getting their just desserts. The first incident occurred when I was driving through the Chicago area on my way to D.C. The tollway was a parking lot since they were doing construction. Well, there's always that guy who thinks he can hop into the V.I.P. lane ( shoulder ) and avoid such an annoyance as the law. Anyway, as we inched our way up to a bridge, there was a guy there in his Caddy, with both sets of wheels in giant holes where there was not concrete and his wheels were spinning. The frame was just resting on the pavement that was there. That was one of the funniest things I ever saw. I still can't imagine what a jolt that must have been or how much noise it made when he hit it. Another incident is when I was driving my Mustang up to Minnesota from Chicago for Thanksgiving. A snow storm was dumping huge amounts of snow. I kept driving though, so I could get out of the storm, but my knuckles were definitely white. I was in the left lane since I just passed someone who was going real slow, but I didn't feel too comfortable going back since going over that snow pile in between lanes knocked me a little squirrelly. This big, black Chevy 4x4 come barreling up on me and starts tailgating me. As we all know, 4x4s are on rails when it comes to snow and ice. Anyway, as soon as I could find a spot that looked like I could move over, I did. Again, got pretty squirrelly. I was driving for another half hour and guess who was deep inside the ditch between then east and west bound highways? That one gave me a real good laugh. ------------------ 351W 89 Mustang GT Convertible [This message has been edited by jimberg (edited 05-17-2001).] |

![]() I have another phrase for it: 'Cosmic Justice'.
Like this common one: You're in traffic and some dork wants to 'race' you in his Civic; you can't be bothered and let him go but he gives you finger as he passes; then you see him pulled over by a cop a half-mile down the road and it just makes your day. This - to me - is 'Cosmic Justice'. |

![]() Sometimes that Cosmic Justice is a long time in coming. I had some ricer fly up on my butt one morning going to work and hang there forever. Now I was already cruising along about 80 and though "yeah yeah you big doofus go on with yourself". Then the chump flies around and the urge to follow was incredible. But the mom-wife-sensible person voice told me "DONT DO IT". About a mile up the road the doofus suddenly starts hitting his brakes. Sure enough a cop is up ahead rolling along exactly at the speed limit of 65. I already slowed down to make my lane changes to get over for my exit (made sure I used my signals) and just laughed as I ended up not only passing the doofus but also the cop who had slowed down even more to about 55 but the speed limit was still 65. I just cruised thru to my exit and got a big kick over that. My day was made.
Cheers. |

![]() Everyday I go through an intersection where the right hand lane MUST turn right, so the middle lane is really the right lane. Once I get across the intersection I need to immediately get in the right lane to turn in a plaza BUT everyone always goes straight through on the MUST TURN RIGHT lane making it hard to get over. Today two cycle cops were out there pulling over everyone that was going straight through. They had tons of people pulled over. The cop would step out into the lane and point them over three and four at a time... My wife and I got a good laugh over that.
It all comes back eventually... ![]() ------------------ My '98 Vegas Pony '98 Rio Red Clearcoat Convertible GT Full black leather K&N Filter Kenny Brown Extreme Matrix Kit with Super Subs |

![]() I have a similair story. I was riding with my friend in his modded '95 GT when a couple of guys pull up next to us at a redlight in a '93-'97 Z28. They were talking trash and revving the engine, and my friend was definately tempted to give them a run. But we were in a part of town that is known for cops being nearby, so he passed on this race. The light changed and the two obnoxious guys in the Camaro peeled out and took off. Less than a mile down the road we passed them and the cop who pulled them over. I smiled and waved as we passed by. We laughed the rest of the night over that. Still makes me smile to this day.
