The judge refused to post any bond on this guy..He is considered a "flight risk"
So that means we have no choice in the matter, if our taxes pay for him while he is in jail.
I simply do not want my hard earned tax dollars to feed and clothe him. Do you?
What they should do is banish him from the united states and send him back over there.

I totally agree. I would blow the sorry sac's head off first chance Igot to. I believe that and red blooded TRUE AMERICAN could be trust to do the same. I am not worried however.I have never been to prison but I am pretty knowledgable with the way it works. This kinda falls into the same realm of anger that a child molestor feels when they get to prison. I know prison inmates strongly frown upon convicted child molestors. Reagardless of what crime you are convicted for there is a comradary against child molestors among other prisoners. Give Lindh life in prison. no bail or bond crap. I truly believe he wont last a year in our prison system before he "Has an accident", if you know what I mean. Bush's words after this event would be announced, " Oh well, __it happens."

Of course he is. He's facing a lifetime in prison and he has strong ties to terrorist organizations that would love to 'free' him. The judge was right to hold him.

Yep, Just like every other federal or state prisoner, including Charles Manson.
Our taxes pay for all of them to lift weights, watch cable TV and otherwise amuse themselves at our expense, no matter the crime. It's the cost of maintaining a legal and prison system. Some states make the convict pay for his own keep, when he has anything to pay with, and I endorse that idea, but I don't believe it applies to federal prisoners, like Johnny-boy.

Not really Dani, but we have no choice. When he was brought into the American criminal law system Johnny 'Taliban' Walker gets the same treatment as every other prisoner.

This is why many folks thought the Military Tribunal idea that president Bush proposed (and is still in place) to try foreign prisoners on foreign soil was a good idea. Unfortunately, Johnny 'Taliban' Walker is an American citizen, not a foreigner, even though we may wish he were. That means he gets the standard 'three hots and a cot' treatment.

This works for me Dani, but it's not feasible. Besides, I don't want this pampered scum to have the chance to harm Americans again.

A life in prison as the 'wife' of a 300 pound Hell's Angel is a fairly decent punishment for a spoiled kid who thought his country - the freest country on earth with the best system of government ever devised by man, despite it's flaws - was not worth living in and instead, he bought into a 'religion' that rewards killing and destruction of innocents as a noble act. Johnny-boy not only bought into it but did everything he could to involve himself in the killing of others - possibly Americans - and turned down the chance to leave the area and the fighting, but refused.

We're stuck with him but he won't be playing Muslim martyr for long. The 'boys' in cell block D will probably convert him real quick and Johnny-boy will have years and years to contemplate his actions that got him to where he is.

OK OK. Mr 5 0, I see your point, but when we were in school didn't we learn that the US had stripped someone (can't remember his name) of his US citizenship and exiled him to another country?
Why can't they do that?

Natural-born American citizens have been stripped of their citizenship before; The first (I believe) was Dr. Benjamin Church, a physician born in Philadelphia who was an important person in the early days of the revolution but privately sided with King George (he had an English-born wife which may have influenced him). Dr. Church was eventually found out and almost killed by a mob, but Congress finally exiled him to the West Indies in 1780. Unfortunately for Dr. Church, the Schooner he was on capsized in a storm and he was lost at sea.

Cosmic justice.

I doubt there is much interest in exiling John Walker as that allows him to not only escape the consequences for his crimes (treason in deed, if not legally) but lets him live free where he wants to be (the middle east) and possibly join another jihad group and try to kill Americans - again. He would have a good motive - revenge - and would be useful to the terrorists in many ways, speaking both Arabic and English.

No Dani, I'm afraid little Johnny Jihad won't be leaving us anytime soon, except in a box. Remember Jeffery Dahmer back about 10 years ago? He was a mass murderer (15) who liked to eat his victims, ala Hannibal Lector. He was caught, convicted and sent to prison for life but only lasted about 4 years before he was attacked and killed by another lifer inmate.

Could this happen to Johnny 'Taliban' Walker? Hmmmm. Gee, I don't know, but I can guess. Prison is tough and even tougher for pampered, anti-American muslim punks like Walker.

Actually, he may end up being exiled in a way, as no prison would probably be safe for him, so they might ship him off-shore to the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. We'll see.

I realize that nothing in life is necessarily fair, and maybe you are right. I guess I'm just frustrated.

Send him to cuba... my thinking is they would probably kill the slimeball too..we don't want him and neither do they.

It is like the Governor of Indiana wants to raise taxes to replenish the deficit..but he can still allow for a 2 mill renovation on the Governors mansion. NOT FAIR!!!!

Maybe I just feel like bitching today..I don't know, but I do know I can't apologize for the way i feel.

No need to apologize Dani, we all feel similar when it comes to justice and fairness.

I, for one, would like to see Walker tried for treason and shot when, er, if - convicted.

Well, that isn't going to happen so we take what we can get, I guess. Slime that Walker truly is, I wouldn't want to be him right now. Jail aside, he's hated by most Americans and always will be. He deserves it, but it's gotta be strange to be hated by most of the people around you (not counting parents, family and paid defense attorneys).

Anyway, we all know that life isn't fair but we all have to deal with it and make the most of what we have. Try to think about the good stuff.
