Question If I buy a new GT....

What options should I get..........I am looking to spend $20-$25,000.00. ..............I want the fastest model available, I am assuming that would be a 5 speed hard top.

When is ford changing the body style cause if its soon I should just wait till then to buy a new GT.

Later,

The GT comes almost everything standard - A/C, power everything. The lightest one (but not by much) would be a coupe with cloth interior. Not sure if you can get a new one without a Mach stereo, but that would save a little bit of weight. If you can afford a few thousand more I'd go with the Mach I.
The new Mustang based on a shortened LS platform is slated for 2004 or 2005 release.

Default GT buying info

The Mustang GT Deluxe model in a coupe is what you're looking for. MSRP is around $23,200. but you can do better, especially as the 2003 models come in.

Not many options to delete anymore so I wouldn't worry about it. Things like a factory CD stereo don't add enough weight to make a difference on a street car. The GT model weighs 3275 with a manual.

If you can spare a few grand definatly pick up a Mach1. They basicly have a 00-02 Cobra motor in them(from what I've been told). One has gone high 12's on D/R's with a good driver, in 90* heat. They should run and and neck with a LS-1.

As far as the stereo goes I was thinking more about the 2 amps and 6 speakers that go with the CD player. Probably still no more than 30lbs, though. What happened to the good ol' days of stripper stangs from the factory???

My job has given me a work truck so I no longer need my 00' GMC truck. Time to trade it in on a sports car......How much is the mach 1?..............I am having a hard time not buying an LS1 they have one for $18,000.00 with 900 miles on it.
