Finally got the N20 done! Fun story :)
Well I finally went down and got my car. Finished with the 8pt Roll cage and nitrous. The cage makes it bit of a ***** to get in and out of, but its still cool.
I got home stopped at my friends house and picked him up. We came back and gapped the spark plugs all down, burning our hands cuz we couldnt wait to try the N20. We went over to the liquor store to get some cold drinks and there was a group of kids 9th-10th graders that were on the high school football team. They all looked over as my car rumbled up, and they were all pointing and going damn listen to that thing! There was 5 of them. They were all commenting and talking to themselfs, and one spoke up and asked "Does it have an exhaust system?" Another slapped him in the face, and said of course it does idiot! It was funny. They started looking inside and saw the roll cage, they were all going holy **** , its got a roll cage!! They were asking what kind of motor it was etc etc, 10,000 questions a minute! (This is the stuff that makes it all worth while! Their excitement was soo cool) The one looks in the back and sees the nitrous bottle, he yells out "HOLY **** ! Its got NOS in it!" They all ran over, and were going, OH **** ! Its got NOS!!! (They obviously all have seen fast and the furious recently) I showed them the motor and they were all asking questions, it was great. My friend and I were tellin them all about the car. Then one of them asked didn't you graduate a couple years ago. I said yeah. he said, yeah, I think Ive heard about this, car, someone was saying its the fastest in town. I just said yep. Cuz I havn't lost to anyone yet! Then my girlfriends little brother was walking by, and I said Hi to him. (Hes in 10th grade) And as I drove off they were all asking "How did you know him?!" He called me later and told me, they couldn't believe he was friends with me cuz I was "So cool, and older and stuff" It was funny, and it gave him a big smile too Im sure. It was great, and the n20 is so fun! I can't wait to get a bigger fuel pump and squeeze it even more! I hope you explained that NOS is a brand and how nitrous REALLY works. It was a great opportunity to steer them away from the dark side (Ricers).
It does make it worth while, doesn't it? I love it when people pull up beside me and say, "Damn, what do you have inside that thing". I get it all the time. |

The one of us asked what was the best, ford, chevy or mopar. And my totally pro ford friend, and I said Oh Ford! Bring any chevy to us to race. And the other kid whacked the other kid in the head and said SEE idiot, I was telling you fords were faster.

That is great sky! Makes it all worth it.
Reminds me of a story too. I was following my friend Chris home one day when he stops at a light and a riced out civic with 4 guys in it fly up and stop next to him. They ask if he wants to run and he sais no. I am right behind him and i nail it to make my front jump and they all turn around and look at me. I smile as to say " i'll go". They asked Chris if i was with him and and what i had done to my car. He smiled and said i had a lot into it. The passenger was hanging out the window yelling "it is bad as ******" when we pulled away. Sorry to bogart the story, just remenising. ------------------ My 87 GT....Marbles AIM: Marbles87Fox Light Em Up!!! |

Most people use the word NOS to describe nitrous, I've heard drag racers, old drag racers, regular people, etc...Because for a while NOS was one of the only nitrous kits available. People said NOS way before the fast and the furious came out.
NOS=Nitrous Oxide System , I know NOS is a brand, but give the uneducated a break, I mean they don't say NOS because the saw F and F. NOS has always been a term for nitrous and everyone knows this, not just the brand name. I don't know, just my thoughts. |

I don't care wether people got the term from a sh1tty movie or not, NOS is just plain wrong, they are a distributor, not the chemical formula.

BIG difference in the Chassis stiffness.
Its an 8pt cage, that goes down below and is bolted and welded through to the subframes. My two biggest complains is I was gonna try and move the seats farther back as I am 6'1 and its a big too close, and now I cant cuz of the cage. Also its a bit of a pain getting in and out of the car. I am 6'1" also and I have the same problem with leg room but it's not too bad.
You will get use to getting in and out and soon you won't think it is so bad; or at least I don't. ------------------ James Cox nochevy@hotmail.com 1991 Mustang LX 12.565 @109.38mph 1.764 60ft |

dude that is funny as hell the one kid slapping the other. I have read where mustang plus in stockton,ca does a thing where they change the floor plan to make the seat father back and lower the height of it. Might be something to look into. I understand the feeling I am 6' 4".

I will have to look into that as soon as I get some more extra cash, sounds like a worth while investment.
