Post Mechanics (and want-to-bes) in the bay area.....

I had the idea of a self-serve shop. Think about it ... How many times have you wanted to do work on your own car but didnt have a place to do so? Either cause you live in an apartment complex, parent/wife wont let you, no room cause the garage is too small/has stored stuff, etc. What if there was a shop where you could have the space to easily work on your car and maybe even have a set of simple tools to use so that you can wrench on your own cars? (like screwdrivers, sockets, ratchets, etc.; of course you could bring your own tool too.)

What do you think? Any wrenchers would be interested in the idea?

I have thought about that same idea! Too bad you live in Cali. I think the idea would go real good. But I kinda want a place where local street racers could hang out also, only if you invited them.

There is a place here in jersey that you can rent out a bay of a shop for the day, week etc, You have to bring you own tools though, but they do have air compressor lines, oil atf, and gear lube. Its like $100 a day. Granted a lift is great to work on $100 a day is a little steep. I rent a storage unit for $60 a month. Big enough for the car and my tools, and its climate controlled. Something else to consider. Any you get to excape for the significant other. Dont forget the mini-fidge to store beer.

Its a great idea, especially if tools were provided. I used to live in the bay area in an apartment. And I still have friends up there that don't have places to work on cars.

BTW your saleen is sooooooooooooo nice.
