That 85GT will probably be just about as collectable as your Cobra in 10 years.

The last of the carbs, first of the world class T-5's, first roller cam. It was a special year. Add T-tops?

Sounds like a very good deal to me.

yea i would get it, i love my 85, i got a hellova deal on mine, it was bone stock with only 14,722 miles on it. it was my dads friends and he just drove it on sundays to church only. it had been sittin for 2 months and he couldnt take it with him cause he was building a new house, so he sold it to me for 8000 dollars, to this day its appraised at 10,000, i have added a 4inch cowl and monster tach along with oil and water temp, MAC headers along with rest of sysetm. carb, intake, e cam, windage tray.
By the way i have the pro chamber with the flow path muffs, it sounds good at high rpms but its real quiet at idle, does anyone else have this too. i think its the pro chamber making it so quiet.
thanks

Thanks for the good info. I will be picking it up on a few hours. I did not know they had t-5 and the last year for carbs. The interior is in good condition I was pleased. I have big plans for this one thining about restoring it.

The 85 was the first year of the 85-86 bodystyle. It had a Holley 4bbl carb that carried over, but the big news was the "world class" T-5 that replaced the weaker T-5's from the 1983-1984 GT's along with the roller cam. The 85 may have had some other little changes in the engine compartment, I can't remember if the intake manifold was different? Anyway, it was rated at 210hp. The 7.5" rear end was maintained and a host of upgrades were made in 1986 as well, but the 85 to me will be a true collector.

The non world class T-5 and the "world class" models were rated with the same torque handling capacity, but the world class got a better 3.35:1 1st gear ratio with the upgraded internals.
