Post Rousche Intake for 5.0

Does anyone remember this thing? It was supposed to be the BEST and it was only offered by Rousche for the 94-95's. They wanted a grand for it! Does anyone have or use one, or know where I can get one cheaper? I want to put the absolute BEST on my stroker.

I brlieve they decided that it was too expensive to continue production. Might as well contact Roush directly...

Those things were so wicked. A big part of that price was to cover the cost of the special cowl hood you needed to make the kit effective I think. It had twin rear-facing throttle bodies and was worth (almost) an honest 40hp over stock. The real b!tch was that you HAD to have a cowl hood or else the thing didn't do squat. It utilized the low pressure area that was created at the cowl. Those things even looked mean.

I work with a guy who has a friend that is sponsored by Roush. He's supposed to get me a price on one of these things. I sure hope I can afford it. I hope it got a little cheaper over time. I also heard 40 hp.

Roush claims 47hp, and 120hp with mildly ported GT-40 heads. Roush is now selling whatever units they have left for $600. I would like to find someone who has actually used one.

The deal sounds very good, especially if you have worked heads.

Haven't heard of anyone with their intake.

It was more than just the intake, it had 24lb injectors, a 70 mm mass air, a 65mm throttle body, air filter, and cowl induction hood, add all those and the kit was a pretty good deal.

Thats more than a good deal, thats damn cheap if you really got all that for a grand. Thats hard to believe. But now I see why they claim the big HP increase.

Jesse-skip it, You want bigger than a 70mm MAF and 65mm TB anyways, and probably 30lb injectors. I would go with the Vic JR, TFS, or holley intake. If your that worried about it, have it ported. There are plenty of good intakes on the market now.

Actually, I think it retailed for ~$1700, hood was carbon fiber though...I've also heard that you can buy just the bare intake part for $600(if there's any left) and it will leave those other intakes far behind in terms of flow and velocity.

In Ford high performance in April 1998 there was a 347 8.8:1 custom hydraulic roller,TFS heads, 1.7 rockers, 75mm BBK throttle body, and a vortech T-trim 16 lbs. of boost that made:
611rwhp@6000
573ft/lbs.@5500.
For it to still be making that much torque that high on a stroker is pretty impressive, this was a street motor, not a light piston and rod race piece.

I still havent heard from the guy yet about what my price is gonna be. I hope to get the intake and hood only if I can. I already have 30 lb injectors. So far Im putting this combo together in my head:

High compression 347 shortblock
AFR 58cc 185's milled a little
X303 cam - 30lb injectors
Re-using my BBK Longtubes
Roush intake or ported GT40

Do you think this will make 400 RWHP Sky?
The car red82GT posted about made over 600 hp but that was with a blower. I will have higher compression though probably 10&1/2 to 1 but no blower. I really want to hit an 11 on motor. That really says a lot.

you will prolly want to get biger long tubes..1 3/4"-1 7/8" primaries would be ideal..1 5/8 is too small for that high flowing of a 347..you should be able to hit a 11 with ease once all the kinks are worked out
