![]() I've seen factory headers on some 5.0s, but I know my 99 had cast manifolds when I bought it. Just look at the motor and see if it has cast manifolds or tube headers.

![]() Every car on the road technically has at least one "header" stock. It is slang for the exhaust manifold, and generally means an aftermarket set of manifolds. So the answer to your question is both yes and no. Yes there are two headers (manifolds) on your car, but by being from the factory they cannot be aftermarket, and thereby not truly "headers" in the commonly accepted meaning of the word.
I hope that helps. Welcome to the site by the way.

![]() the 85-93 5.0s came with factory headers. they were only 1 1/2" I believe. I have 2 sets of them.

![]() Headers tend to be steel tubing, while exhaust manifolds tend to be cast iron. Ford did install factory headers in many of their vehicles, including the GT's, but that doesn't mean they couldn't be improved upon. Aftermarket parts are usually performance oriented, while most factory parts have things like emissions and noise levels in mind.

![]() I guess they can be coined as a header, but they are really more like a tubular manifold. They are Stainless steel, and suck *** for flow, better than the 84 and back cast iron manifolds, but nowhere near a real set of headers. 85-95 5.0's had tubular manifolds, I'm I'm almost positive 96+ 4.6's do too.

yea, I beleive the non HO302's ( crown vics an GM) have cast iron manifolds. chris is mos definetly right about usin Aftermarket in performance apps. stock stuff is used for strictly for lower cost production, warranty longevity, an emissons testing. ever loooked at the design of stock headers an how they look like some one crimped them with a vise? now pretend your air an see how fast you can make it out the back of yer car... not an ideal mate for power makin...but i've also heard horror stories about replacin 4.6 headers, so be wary brotha. hey a GM convert..cool!!! ![]()
