Hey there all I was wondering if there was a real name for this part...it is run by the serpentine belt under the alt and next to the harm balancer on a 5.0 ltr...the manual says an Air Pump for emissons? which seems to have just seized up from last night to today when trying to start car??? Thanks,

It is just want you said...an air pump. I believe it pumps fresh air into the cats to help with emissions. I know many people disconnect it as they start modding their car. Do a search in the windsow forum if you want some info on how to do that. I know it has been discussed in there.

yeah it's the bearing's on the shaft, it will cost you more to fix it, than just go find one in a junyard, make sure the pulley turn's freely, god i dont know why they put that crap on in the first place, good luck.

You can get a rebuilt one pretty cheap from any auto parts store.. 35 bucks or so.
