Automobile Magazine's 2004 Mustang Drawing!!!
Just saw this the other day when 95MustangGT let me borrow his copy of Automobile Magazine.
2004 Mustang: I REALLY like the classic lines on this thing.... You think this will be close to the real thing?

Wow that is the first pic of Mustangs future looks that I've actually really liked right off the start. It adds a touch of the old Mustangs in there. I'm really liking that!

I like it too! Very cool!
I don't think they will leave the front end like that, though

I'll play devil's advocate and say that i personally don't like it. First of all, its too round, looking less like a mustang and more like an import. its losing the sharp look that i enjoy so much. it also seems to be creeping up on the look of a viper. don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to dump on it, and i don't have any ideas right off the bat about how to change it, but this just isn't the route i would take the mustang in the future if it were my choice. i like the classic lines on the side too, but the front needs major tweaking.

Wow, I love it. It is the first one I've seen that I truely like. It does need new wheels though.

2004 Mustang impressions
Hmmmmmm.
My first impression is that I like it - but it needs work. The roofline is way out of proportion with the body as are the wheels (too big). Too much rice influence there. The front and sides are good - but need tightening. There can be such a thing as too much retro. It looks a lot like a 'concept car' version of a 1968 Mustang. That isn't bad, but Ford needs to get a little more creative and not try to lean quite so heavily on the early Mustangs, then throw a few 21st century ricer cues on it and consider it having the best of both worlds. I just don't see this particular version Mustang being a 'classic' in 20 years, as it looks too '60's-based (been there, done that) with touches that'll soon be outdated when the ricer fad finally passes. It's not a bad 'Stang but I think Ford can do better with the resources they have available and the market position that Mustang occupies. |

First impression was, "Interesting."
I like the rear of the car...nice lines with some classic styling. Like everyone else, I think the front needs some refinement. The hoodline needs a diet...looks too fat for the rest of the car. The wheels have to go. Maybe that's what throws the front end off so much. With decent rims, it would look better. The bullits will probably look really nice on it. Hey photoshop guys...crop in some bullits to the car so we can see what it looks like! Let's just hope they put a decent powerplant in it...maybe that Eaton blown 4.6 from the '03 Cobra. --nathan

Overall, I like the new style. I'm not crazy about the hood, but other than that it looks sharp. Although, the wheels look similar to the wheels on my wife's Taurus SEL. Weird. E

It's not a bad design, I like it. It's a whole lot better than that Motortrend "2004 mustang" drawing that didn't look like it should be the next generation Stang on the new platform at all.

Aint gonna happen. Looks to good to be real. Ford will never make it look that much like the older stangs...although I would like to see them prove me wrong.
