![]() The 87 GT i have is BONE stock w/ 204K on it. the interior is great and it runs awesome. i was thinking of getting a cheap paint job ($500) on it. the paint is bad now...on the hood for example is pealing b/c of a factory flaw. anyways. what would u guys do? i want it to look good b/c i drive it everyday, and its a fun car to drive. OR should i just put the cash into the 86 GT which i drag race.....opinions please.

![]() I wouldn't think $500 is to much to sink into an '87 GT. With 204K though, you'll have to expect putting more in on a regular basis. As cars age and wear, it will always keep increasing cost-wise.

![]() What color is the car? If it is blue or silver(grey) you might be able to have ford paint it at no cost. I have a buddy that had an 88 or 89 gt that was blue at the top with silver on the ground effects and lower rockers, the paint started to peal off so he took it to the dealer. They said there was a flaw with the primer they used then and it was covered as a recall. I have a hard time believing that ford would recall and have the option to paint that many cars but it's worth a phone call to the dealer if its FREE.

![]() i'd put it in the racer. no sense in doing a cheap paint job that will have to be redone within a couple years anyways. I'd either save up enough cash to do a good thorough paint job on the daily driver or put it into the racer. mho
