Default Got a new ride... Pictures

Well, I have always wanted a old muscle car and came by a good deal. I know its a Chevy, but I like it. It's a 1971 Chevy Nova SS. It's a real SS. It has front disc brakes, 12 blt. rear with a 4.11 posi. Muncie 4 spd. Hurst shifter. Motor is a 350 with camel hump heads, a decent cam, Edelbrock Performer intake, long tubes, flows,ect... This car is extremly soild. It also has no power steering, or brakes, or AC. There is nothing on the front of this motor, except for the water pump and Alternator. I could change the cam in this thing and still have the motor warm when I'm done. Anyway, check out the pictures in the link below and tell me what you guys think.

Sweet car! Gotta love them vinyl roofs! Is the Vinyl roof a common option for the Nova's?

Looking at the pictures it looks to be a pretty nice car. I've never been a fan of the early 70's/late 60's Chevelles or Novas, but if you like it thats all that matters.

The 65 and 66 Chevelle's are sweet though.

Get that thing to the track when winters over and let us know what it'll do.

I think you suck.

The only thing it needs to be any sweeter in my eyes, other than a 427, are the classic Corvette ralleys, with the rims painted black (look at the rims on the Chevelle below). I think they rival Centerlines on a red and black Chevy.

I love your car, and I think you suck.

Nothing personal.

Take care,
-Chris

Another qestion, I really want to put a gear drive on it, one of the noisy ones, but all my friends say that they are stupid, and for people that can't afford a blower. I think they sound good. What do you guys think?

For people that can't afford a blower??? Since when did having perfect valve timing become a poor mans substitute for boost? I think gear drive is the only way to go. I've got it in my truck. Mines quiet, but that's just a personal preference.

I say get it! Who's car is it, yours or your friends?

They'll all be secretly jealous!

Take care,
-Chris

P.S. Great car.

Solid looking car. I'm really not a fan of Novas or Chevelles either. Now if it was say... a 69 Camaro RS, I'd absolutely love it! I like the 68 Mustang, 60s vettes and 67-68 Cougars. I really wouldn't mind having any of those cars..

um fir anybody that says the lates 60;s early 70's novas and chevelles suck need to have ur head checked
even though i was not even born then and my parents were stil young teenagers i have come to look at the LS6(1970) chevelle and the yenko novas as some of the most badass cars ever built. even though i like the mustangs and cougars of the 60's and early 70's IMO chevy was the best. although a 428 mach 1 would be killer i would take my 70 LS6(454/450) chevelle over it anyday.oh and i'll take that with the muncie 4 spd and 4:10 gears

beautiful car!!! I bought a 69 Nova ss in 1971, had 7,500 miles on it for $1,850.00. It was Lemans blue with a white vinyl top. Cloth bench seat with rubber mat on floor, am radio, no p/s, no a/c, just power disc brakes. 4.10 rear, 396/375. Had e-70-14 tires and dog dish hub caps on blue wheels. Tires were red walls on one side and blue on the other. I changed to 15" Cragars and g/60/15's added traction bars, headers, annd removed the smog system. Took the transverse muffler off and installed true duals. Installed Hurst shifter and shiefer clutch. What a car, wish I still had it but sold it in 1972 to get married and need money for a down payment on a house. Best of luck with your ride. RAY

Cool car man. I was gonna get a 1974 Olds Omega(same thing as a nova) before I got my Mustang, but the guy(who was the original owner) decited not to sell it. It was really nice, 350 Rocket, factory A/C, lots options.

I love old muscle cars also...but Nova's never did anything for me..

Now, a 1970 or 71' Monte Carlo was a sweet ride. Chevelles ok also, but Novas.....blah....thier like the dodge darts of chevy in my opinion. But hey, it doesnt matter what I think, Im sure it moves out extremely well..and thats what really matters.
