Default My First Mustang

Hey fellas I'm the proud new owner of a 1988 GT hatchback.

I bought it from a guy for $1,500 with only 79k on the ticker. the first day I had it I started it up and my little heart has been pounding to get it on the road.

So far I've had to replace the heater core - and for all of you who don't know - Mustang heater cores are a pain in the a** to get out. I've also changed the exhaust to MAC longtube headers, H-pipe and MAC cat back. I've also added a Black Magic fan and high flow water pump.

I'm going to add some pics of the car as it was when I first got it.
I'll also post recent pics of car.

Either you got the best deal I've ever seen, or you need to tell us what was wrong with it (other than the heater core).

Don't tell me the thing was mint!!!

Thumbs up

Hey, I just bought me my first 87-93 (actually a '91) Mustang LX (4-banger though) for $1500. How did you get such a deal? Was the guy you bought it from a family member, a good friend? That's a weird cheap price. Happy for you though.

Damn. Theres a guy in town here with a blue and silver early 90's GT Hatch back with 130,000 miles on it. Looks real good, but the guy wants 13,000 for it. I dont know what kind of crack he is smoking, but I want some.

1500 sounds like one sweat deal. Kinda like the Old lady with a AC Cobra in her Barn or something like that.

nothing is wrong with the car it runs and all. but the thing is i have to put it all back together because the guy i bought it from was going to race it. so he stripped it and gutted it and decided not to race it so it jsut sat. and he wanted to get rid of it. well when i figure out how to work my scanner ill post some pics of it.

Nice Nice....! I bought my 1969 Mustang Mach 1 for $8000 Canadian (apx. $5000 US) and it was an amazing deal. Engine has is very done, nice, been recently rebuilt. No engine problems. All chromed up, interior was alittle rough but body is pretty good, small rust buble on bottom of the door that will be fixed. The seats have been reset to get done, the chrome was all mint, all new emblems, new gas cap, new shocks, fairly new tires. recent paint but it was not that well done so I'm redoing it so it comes out very nice. But when I bought it was I offered $12000 by 2 people right away.
And it's a # matching car, and she goes very quick, carb and timing has to be adjusted, it is a 351-4bbl. Has a Holly 4bbl carb too, K&N Filter. She is so nice and sexxy I put down rubber in my driveway with her yesterday. Woops. =) I have no seats and had a hard time getting it up the driveway. lol
