If I had to choose, I would definitely rule out the gamecube....It would be between the PS2 and the X-box. And I'd have to say the winner would be the X-box!

ok, going to throw my .02
I am THE kid that grew up playing video games... born in '74 had the following: atari 2600 atari 7800 NES game boy (it counts) sega MS SNES sega 16 turbographics 16 (kick @ss!) Playstation (went through 3 of em) Nintendo 64 Playstation 2 My computer... Dont get me started on arcade games....to make it quick, I used to compete in street fighter 2 and Mortal Kombat tournaments! lol no, I wasn't spoiled...I bought everything after the NES... After all that, here is my take on the current state of gaming: If you are over 13 years old, dont purchase the game cube...nintendo's track record for being a kids machine is in no danger of changing. Want some really good PC ports? possible expantion, more mature games? (HALO) get the X-Box. Want arcade quality with a DVD player that doesn't work that well? PS2 is for you. Dont get me wrong, great machine...dvd playback isn't up to par though. Want to experiance total immersion? Turn off all the lights, put on a good set of headphones, and play Aliens Vs Predator 2 as a Marine....Try to tell me your heart rate doesn't increase to a rapid beat...Then jumping in your seat like a scared kid cause you just got pounced on by everyones favorite E.T. -ed |

That was probably the worst system I ever had just because they didn't hardly make any games for it. I also have the playstation 2 and had playstaion 1 and I think I would wait before buying an X-box just until the games grow in competition with the Playstation 2.My .02's Street fighter and Mortal Kombat were the **** back in the day. I feel old thinking about when I played Atari. Geeez! Boy, how things change. You can't keep up with the market anymore. New game systems come out every year or so now it seems. Maybe I should just stick with my cpu.LOL James

I'm suprised no one mentioned Kaleiko-Vision. The spelling is wayyyyy off because when I played it, I didn't know how to read yet
there was another one that came out about 8-9 years ago or so, i got it for my birthday and was severely pissed at the games, i cant remember the name of it though, something with a 16 in it i think? i guess i'm just rambling

I just bought a PS2 last night with NCAA Football 2002 (oh, what a sweet FB game). I went with the Sony because they have a better game selection. They always have and probably always will.
I have seen the X-Box. It is sweet, but I didn't really like the controller. The Playstation controller is the greatest ever IMO.

I've played all 3. The game cube sucked. The PS2 was really cool and they have a lot of games for it, but the X-box blew them all away. The graphics were awsome. I think I'll wait till they offer more games for the X-box before I get it (which means I'm flat broke and won't be able to afford one for a while)
