Opinions - 95 Cobra
I have an opportunity to buy a 1995 Cobra for $7900.00 and I would like some feedback from anyone that owns one or knows this car. What was the factory HP rating? How do they handle? etc.. It has 70K on the clock, red w/black leather, rock stock, real clean and, to the best of my knowledge, never been wrecked. Honestly I'm not a big SN95 fan (no offense, just a true blue Fox body guy) but it seems to be a sweet ride for a good price. My idea is to buy it, slap it with 8-10 lbs. boost and drive it. Whadya think?

If you don't buy it, let me know, cause I'm looking for one. Seriously, let me know.

240hp
The 95 Cobra has major enhancements over the GT. Upgraded brakes, GT40 iron heads, Cobra intake, 1.7:1 roller rockers, crank pulley, 24lb/hr injectors, 70mm MAF, upgraded T-5, and 3.27:1 rear gears to name a few. The cam in the car is not very aggressive, the computer stinks, and the MAF isn't the best. Upgrading those items and adding a full exhaust will net you impressive performance increases. Expect hp levels to jump to around 320hp with those mods. Skip the cam and you should still see over 300. It was underrated by Ford in the first place as the cars make closer to 260hp. The 1995 Cobra will be a serious collector. The last of the pushrod Cobra's, and the last of the 5.0's. |

My dad has one, and I'm not thrilled with it.
It's heavy and it feels very solid, but it just doesn't haul the mail like a Fox body. Admittedly, it's a ragtop, so it's very heavy, and probably the slowest SN95 Cobra. However, the power comes on nice and smooth, and it shifts very well, and the brakes are excellent. I've never ridden in a Cobra coupe, but I imagine it's similar but faster. |

I say go for it. I'd LOVE to get my hands on a nice one. They will become a collector car. I'd grab it if it is in such nice condition!

My friend has a '94 Cobra coupe....hes done alot of mods to it. He's very happy with it...its a beautiful car, and it can run!!!! Like Unit said, with some mods, it can be a great car....Sounds like a good price too!!!!! Let us know what you decide!!!!
Ya, I was the same about liking the Fox Bodys for a long time since I have a SN95, but they really grew on me....I'm sure this one could grow on you too!!!!!! Good luck! Topless

Good purchase.
You should enjoy the car, I'm wondering if i want to by another SN95 Mustang. The 94-95 Cobras are solid. |
