Thumbs up

I had to say 16, and by a landslide. There is no better feeling than being able to finally drive on your own. I was one of the first birthdays in my group of friends and my grandma had given me her 1990 Escort Lx for my 16th birthday. Not a fast car by any stretch of the imagination, but wheels when you turn 16 is something I am still very grateful for. Then senior year, I sold the Escort for $2800 and bought my first Mustang with that and some other money I had saved up. Another great feeling which I'll never forget. If grandma hadn't given me the Escort, I would've had to settle for a beater Stang until I could finally afford a decent one, which at my current money saving rate would not be until I graduated from college.

And I too was drinking long before 21, however, it did feel mighty good being able to walk into the store and buy alcohol, consume as much of it as I wanted and not have to worry about the law giving me MIP's.
