Talking I Got A New Pickup Saturday.

Since my '86 1/2 Nissan Hardbody pickup has been going to crap on me since I bought it, I figured it was time for a new truck. Since I've had the Nissan I've had to replace the heater control unit, belts, leaf springs, shocks, and the transmission.

Saturday afternoon I went downtown and found a '88 Ford Ranger STX. 2.9L V6, auto, 4WD, A/C, new paint, new bedliner. The valve covers are leaking a little bit of oil and need new gaskets so I'll get that done sometime this week. I washed it and cleaned the interior out really good today. It's a pretty nice little truck for being 14 years old. The previous owner was old and did nothing but baby the truck around town. It only has just under 87k miles on it too!

I think the Nissan was bad luck altogether. We bought it on 9/11. I remember listening to the radio all day while I was out in the garage cleaning it. Ehh....scary....

You had to go and point out that 1988 was 14 years ago, didn't you. You have no idea how "old" that makes me feel.

Screw you.

Nice truck, though.

Take care,
-Chris

Ben that is exactly what i want my beater to be. If i get one i'm gongi to do a 6 inch lift and put mudders on it. Then when i get my new motor for the mustang in the comnig years my 302 goes into the ranger

nice truck though

And tireburner watch what you say because that truck will walk all over your mustang

Sorry, but the ugly wheels are gonna have to stay for awhile. The truck only has to last me a year anyways. But I'm close to being out of money! So every last cent I have now goes into the Mustang! It's going to take me longer to get the Stang done now because the truck was bought and drew a bit from my cash flow into the Mustang! Same with the lift kit. I'd love to throw some swampers on it with a 6-inch lift but it won't happen. It's going to be my dad's truck when I'm done with it that he drives to and from work during the week. And he needs something with good gas mileage that rides decent, not something that sits 10 feet high in the air and rumbles when you go down the road from the knobby tires.

69fastback- YES! You're my IDOL! hahaha....just playin.

In my first post I had a picture attached, and you can see that little purple-ish "swirly" paint there underneath the white stripe going down along the side. I really didn't like that too much so tonight I started looking at it and found out they're little decals. So I whipped out my mom's hair dryer and peeled those things right off! It looks WAY better now!

Here's a pic.
