Perhaps where you live, but not in California. It's been tried. The laws are written crystal clear. That doesn't mean it's right, but it does mean your point is not. At least here.

You seem to have missed the point. It was found that the biggest impact that the Z28 and Mustang cruisers had was to reduce the numbers of 100+ violations occuring before they happened. That was well worth the investment.

I guess it just depends on where you live. 130 mph is NOTHING on I-40, or I-15, between L.A. and Nevada. People get passed driving 130 there.

I agree. Honestly Kell, I'm not big on pursuits reaching 100 mph, or even 80 for that matter, but I don't believe that handicapping law enforcement is the answer. I still believe that the best defense is a good offense. Having the right equipment doesn't mean having to use them to their extremes to have satisfactory results. Sometimes just being able to do something is enough to prevent having to do it. The cold war taught us all that.

You act as though it's a given that the top speed in high speed pursuits is totally regulated by the top speed of the CHP's best cruiser. Give me a break!

Are you into gun control too, believing that outlawing guns will keep them from criminals? It's really the same line of thought. Just wondering how deep this vein goes.

Even less will do it when other traffic is around. The comparison between a chase at 160mph while avoiding other road hazards and somebody having the ability to do 160 are astronomical.
EXACTLY!!! So what are you so concerned about??? Just how many 160 mph pusuits do you guys have in Minn.? You are extremely hung up on these 160 mph pursuits, and frankly, I've never heard of a single one going that fast, but I'm not up on how you guys do things there.

Take care,
