Mixed feelings. They're okay in a pinch, but I prefer NAPA. I recently had a problem with Autozone not wanting to honor a Chief Auto Parts starter warranty. The store was very well lit, though.

Take care,
-Chris

Well, I only have 3 different dealers of auto parts where I live...

Autozone: OK, but you have to know what you want before you go in there cuz their employees dont know crap about cars.

Pep Boys: They NEVER have parts instock so you have to special order them. They are also expensive.

Hi-Lo: They have a knowledgable staff (if you talk to the right person), but they are slow getting to you if you need something behind the counter.

They all have their ups and downs (some more then others ). I order most of my stuff from Summit, but for little stuff like spark plugs and oil, I usually get them from Hi-Lo.

The 3 big ones in Columbus are AutoZone, Napa, and Advanced Auto. I prefer Advanced Auto because they usually carry a decent selection of performance parts in stock. A little bit more expensive than AZ but cheaper that Napa. We also have a lot of smaller parts stores in town that can get ANYTHING you need. I go to one of them for most of the parts for my 67. (Hard to find parts for that old C-body.)

Autozone is great for some stuff, plus I go to www.autozone.com to look my stuff up first. Big thing is to watch out for the name brands. Their rebuilt stuff is ok, and they have lifetime warranty. My calipers and ps pump came from them, and have had calipers for a few other cars that were ok too. The Wells Ign stuff seems ok, the brake rotors and drums I got work ok, at least they were Taiwan not China made!

Good prices on Motorcraft plugs and oil filters etc..

They have plenty of cheapo parts too, plus not too many usefull employees. At least the Natick MA one had a nice Hottie that actually had some knowledge of parts pretty rare though.

Best advice, use the website to find your parts, U can do the same for NAPA too, www.napaonline.com then print out the results and then you actually get what you want!!
