I ride a 1966 Triumph 650 Bonneville. No it's not American, it's British, and I'm proud of it. I could care less what kind of bike any one rides, but the sport bikes are not for me. Never have been and never will be.

I have an older bike that is currently not running. I am planning on getting a sport bike in the not too distant future. I can understand a lot of the bull between car owners, but all bikers should stick together...they are outnumbered and have a lot more in common than they think, whether it be a cruiser, sport bike, or tourer.

Inferno, I agree. For some reason the Harley owners seem to think they are better than the sport bike crowd, I really can't understand it. When I buy a Harley, it will be for msrp and not a dime more. I'm not buying into a club, I'm buying a f'n bike. Seems they think that being able to afford a Harley makes them better or something, I still don't get it. I've met some cool Harley owners and they will wave but for the most part its a 'us' and 'them' situation and I really can't figure it out. I get the idea of american made but I don't think that is where they are coming from.. I'm cool with them if I'm riding a Harley but not on a sportsbike?? Seems childish to me.. Someone enlighten me.

Heeh, Marty there is no question that you would be one of the cool guys on a Harley. I've met some cool Harley owners and its all "as long as your riding you're cool with me". That's not the norm but its always cool to meet people like that. It actually surprises me when someone on a Harley waves at me, all the sportsbike guys wave.
The valve stem seemed like a good idea and if it helps to keep someone from running into me its worth it, rice or not. I pasted a horrible bike-car accident today. The guy on the bike didn't look too well He was laying flat on his back and not moving.. I hate seeing crap like that I can already hear the "I didn't see him" line.... ****! |
