![]() Quick question, Last weekend I raced a guy in a 87 300zx with 14 psi of boost. I barely one.
Tonight we race again, he claims he makes 8psi of boost in 1st. 12psi of boost in 2nd and 16 psi of boost in third. I thought the boost level was rpm related and had nothing to do with what gear you are in. Am I right or wrong. I need to know cause its on tonight for cash. and if this is true I am not gonna go from a roll. Lemme know,

![]() I dont know much on turbos but from a roll they give us naturally aspirated people some trouble. Btw, which car are you gonna race him with? Man I wish I was in west texas tonite

![]() turbos are adjusted by a wastegate, not rpm. there are a lot of factors to look into to see how much boost and when it will kick in.

![]() im with him, from a rolling start that car is going to be at full boost the whole time, at least off the line he has to wait about a second or two for it to spool

Use the extra torque your have to your advantage. Plus his turbo take time to spool up.
