Question I got tire flies...

My mom got me some tire flies for christmas. They're little lights that screw on to the valve stem on your tires. When the tires start moving they blink and when your going 50mph+ it looks like one bright line of light. Does anyone have these things on their car? here's the website in case you have no idea what i'm talking about.

www.tirefly.com

I guess they look pretty cool in the dark but I think I might take them off in the day time just cause i don't want them to get stolen or something. Oh yeah, one more question for you guys. This doesn't make my car "ricey" does it? Just curious, cause i'll only have them on at night when i'm doing burnouts and stuff so my burnouts look cool. it'd be gay to have them on during the day. That's like saying, "hey look at what I have! stuff that so easy to steal i might as well give them to you!" heh

I wouldn't put them on my car but I actually have them on my bike. I put them on the front wheel to make it easier for people to see me at night (call it rice if you like). I guess they would light up my welds nicely but heeh... I don't think so. Hey, its your car but I wouldn't have them on mine.

a guy at work had his son put them on his gt, they were blue, he got pulled over, the cop's took them because they said if they stayed on all the time, no problem, but since they flashed like police blue light's - illegal- rice on a car, yes, on a bike well you have to be seen on a bike so i guess that would be cool.

First, I don't use em, probably won't, but the cop who claimed they might imitate a police car is one chicken-S*** cop. I work with law enforcement from all over the state and have a great deal of respect for most of them. But this guy has to be the cream of the crop for S##t-heads. Don't know him, don't want to. Anyone who can make the claim that these could be used to make even the most numb-brained moron think it was a flashing blue overhead light bar can't be working with a full deck.

Yea, probably a little ricey on the car. But, the idea of putting them on the bike is pretty good. It may be ricey on a bike too, but anything that makes me seen a little more on a bike can't be too bad.

In my opinion, those things are a wonderful example of rice. What's next? Little blue lights for the windshield washer squirty thingys (whatever the HECK those things are called ) ? Or maybe glowing exhaust tips that glow blue or orange and red and yellow to make it look like you're shooting fire out of your tail end... OOOOOOHHHH, that's gotta be a fast car with those things on AAAAHH *sigh* Well, you ask.... I answered. But hey, it was a present-- a nice thought. I'm not dissing the fact that your mom gave you a present--- b/c that was simply sweet of her for thinking about you, but, nonetheless, you don't have to put them on your car. Put them on a bicycle-- more appropriate....

lol Without reading anyone's posts yet, I'll have to say they are pretty ricey. lol I know if I seen a Mustang with them I'd be like that poor poor Mustang. But it's all personal opinion. And if your going 50mph or more... you probably don't want to try to bring any more attraction to yourself. And I know some colours could be illegal.

It's your car. If you like them, what difference does it make what anyone else thinks?

But since you asked, yeah, that's straight up Uncle Bens. Next comes the light up exhaust can, and then the light up windshield wipers, followed by the string of lights you wrap around things inside the car.

It doesn't get much more ricey than that, IMO. But I won't be driving the car, you will.

Do what YOU want.

Take care,
~Chris

I'm not a fan on cars, but my opinion never matters much. I am placing an order for a pair of red ones to throw on the VFR. I like the idea of being seen from the side.

Deuce, they won't clear the brake caliper on the rear tire on my 98 VFR. You might want to check that on yours. I have an extra one and its red, like my bike.. if it will match your bike I will send it to ya. Let me know if you want it.. or you can just go to Walmart.
