Thumbs down whats left of the right side of my truck

Heres whats left of the right side of my truck. Some 19 year old uninsured douchebag backed in to the passenger side of my truck while I was moving. It's pretty messed up. I'm guessing around five to six thousand dollars damage. It needs both doors replaced as well as the rocker panel. The good news is the kids are fine. If one of them would have been hurt, that idiot would be lucky to be alive.

Sorry to hear about that bro... uninsured?!?!?! Glad to hear that the kids are okay tho, but that is still some major B.S.

What kind of recourse is there since the kid ala douchebag has no insurance? Law suit, or what? What a P.I.A!

Doesn't look like the 'new' bars got hurt... or did they? Can't tell...

Hope everything comes out in the wash, so to speak.

Later,
-Ryan

Now see, here's exactly why people should have large, bright colored vehicles! If your truck had been more visible, I'm sure he would have....huh? Oh yeah, it IS bright red.

What a moron. Sorry to hear the news.

Take care,
~Chris

ugh, that does suck... when I lived in NH there was no law to have any kind of insurance, here you have to at least PIP and collision (for the other persons car) IMO All ststes should have mandatory insurance. If you don't have it here, you lose your license.

Thanks guys. I guess I have uninsured protection on my truck because my insurance guy said they would take care of it. Im not sure if I have rental coverage or not though, and since this is my work truck, that could be a problem. I might have to wait until the end of February when I leave for a week and a half, to get it fixed.

We are required here to have insurance, but alot of good that does. I heard the kid tell the cop that he had been in an accident before, but it wasnt his fault. He was issued a ticket for no insurance, and failure to yield.

Andy

Andy - Really sorry to hear about your ordeal. It is great to hear that no one was hurt.

This whole 'uninsured' motorist crap is just that - CRAP! There should be a big fine and suspension of your license if you're caught without insurance. The law in Ohio requires insurance, problem is that they allow such low coverage that it could barely cover the cost of removing the bugs from a radiator.

Hopefully you do have the rental car insurance - it's a fairly cheap add-on to any policy and is good protection for times like these.

Good luck getting everything worked out.

That bites Andy. It must of been hard not to kill the kid. It's good to hear that at least your insurance will cover it.

if they boast minimum coverage its stupid that they call themselves Safe Auto...they should just call themselves Cheap Insurance or something...gives the wrong impression, and theyre trying to give the idea of being cheap anyways...its horrible...

what i dont like is florida no fault..ugh...fender benders (your fault or not) under certain amounts (i think a grand) gets done through your and the other person's insurance...its "no fault"...rediculous..and with all the old people driving around, it makes it near impossible to avoid an accident...ive had a number of close calls where they just decided to take my lane, cut me off across a parking lot, etc and they didnt even see me after i leaned on my horn and started screaming at them!....ugh...i should get a monster truck or something...
