Default Verdict on my broken motor

Well everyone and their mom, including myself, thought that I blew a rod about a month and a half ago. The motor is torn apart now, and it wasn't a rod. The stock harmonic balancer (only 4 years old) broke in two. The bearings are shot, crank kinda messed, and the rods stretched. Here are some pics of the teardown.

Not flaming you at all,I feel for you but I bet that 300 dollar SFI balancer you THOUGHT about getting awhile back looks good now. There's a lesson here.....Mods = Power and stock balancers cant handle it,get an SFI spec balancer and save the crank. good luck with the rebuild.

if it wouldn't have been the balancer, it would have been the next weakest link

Well, at least now the rebuilding process can start. Good luck, man.

One of the first mods I got was a Fluidamper.

imagine that, another ford balancer claims another victim.

sorry to hear about this happening to you now. i went through this same thing back in sept. (balancer broke, kicked a rod, broke the crank, and split the block into 2 halves) atleast your motor is somewhat salvageable. but like its been said already, now itstime to make i stronger and more powerful.

good luck.
