Car back together again, yay!
I'm so psyched, i finally got my GT back together after a month and a half (Working in a partially covered, flood prone, car port is not the fastest way to get things done in rainy washington).
Anyway, i took it for a spin tonight after getting the final touches done to it and the suspension is still settling but the thing i can already tell transfers way more weight to the back (and doesn't like to turn very much ) Just so everyone knows this is what i did: welded torque boxes and seams, subframe connectors, Moroso Drag springs, Lakewood 70/30 struts, Steeda double adjustable upper control arms, Granatelli weight jacker lower control arms, Synthetic gear oil, and replaced the heater core. I'm so happy to have the stang running again. Once the springs settle to normal ride height, i'm going to set pinion angle, and double check all the bolts for tightness. Then i will buy slicks and i'm going to the track, hoping for at least mid 13's. SWEET!!!!

Sounds good, do you still have the front sway bar on? It's definitly sweet when you get your car running after you haven't driven it for a while. I haven't been able to drive mine since a few days before christmas so it'll definitly be bayad when I get it running again.

I removed the front sway bar, which makes the car not like to take sharp corners at all I noticed when i took it off with my stock suspension it helped weight transfer considerably.
Now the front end just shoots up and i'm getting alot better traction. I had a little bit of axle tramp when i first laid into the peddle a few days ago, but i adjusted the rear ride height and changed the pinion angle (was at 1* down, i adjusted to 3*), now it just goes! The springs will still settle so i'll have to adjust it again, but it's so easy it wasn't much trouble. By the way, that's a cool astro van! I've never seen someone work over an Astro van like that. That's a total sleeper, that's pretty much what i'm going for with my mustang. Hopefully you get your 'stang back on the road, i've been wanting to do nothing more than to just cruise around and bake the tires randomly.

It would be sweet to have endless tires, my tires on my stang are bald and flat from sitting, so I'll have to get some when I get it ready to drive. The only thing I'd still like to do this year to my van is build up the rear, it still has the factory open differential/2.somtehing gears so it usually does a mean one-wheel burnout. When it does do a 2 wheel it gets some bayad wheel hop once it goes into 2nd. Other than that, I just want to get my van solid so I can start figuring out what I want to do with my 86 GT. I'll probably look for a used T-5 for now, and I have a 429 in the machine shop but I don't know if I want to mess with using it. I don't really want to go through the trouble of swapping everything for just a mild big block, and if I build it up w/514 stroker kit/aluminum heads, etc., I wouldn't trust the stock block, so I think I may try to build a good small block and eventuall go with a procharger or turbo setup.
