I think that is pretty cheap considering the car and age. It will go down a lot when you reach 21. State to state insurance rates are different though.

its a real kick in the *** shelling out that kinda dough for somthing you will never use or rarely.... Kinda funny though insurance companies got it whooped! big time charge all that money for somthing that isnt actually a product(well unless you wreck)....Considering i got one quote of 3700$ every 6 months ehh yeah this is pretty cheap lol...

Not taking the insurance company side, but you have to understand, to an insurance company a 19 Yr old male + 305hp = major risk.
We all went through it, you wanna play, gotto pay.

The best way to find good insurance rates is to shop around. Call at least 5 different places.
What pisses me off is that in the case that you need them, you have an accident for example, then they raise your rates! What the hell was i paying you for in the first place? |

$1000 doesn't actually sound all that bad, for a Mach 1 given your age. I pay about $800 every six months with Allstate. That is for full coverage on a 98 GT, which doesn't even have close to 305hp.
I'm 27 years old, too. Turning 25 gets you a nice break on your premiums (at least in Pennsylvania), but you may have to gut it out until then. I have pretty good coverage. You probably already know this, but if you want to try to lower your rates you can find out what the minimum required coverage levels are for your state and get a policy that reflects those minimum levels. Be prepared to absorb any losses beyond that minimum coverage though. Personally, I don't think your going to do much better than the low quote you already have. Cheap insurance is cheap for a reason. One thing I'll say about Allstate...though they charge out the ***** they do provide pretty good service - and I've been through two stolen cars and one totalled one (not by me). They'll usually start your claim and get you in a rental within a few hours of the report.

Have you tried Progressive Insurance... they have some of the cheapest rates around here. My family works in insurance and they say the way to get the lowest insurance rates is get an insurance company that isnt a huge cooperation or anything... but just because you get one out of the city you live in doesnt mean you are gonna see a HUGE drop in price. Im sorry you had to be a guy see us girls can play... and we BARELY pay... my insurance is SUPER cheap... I hope you find a cheaper rate than that... that will break you fast lol

45% off state farm
Check w/ statefarm again, there may be more there than a computer will tell you. I'm only 20 and I pay right a grand a year. I took one of those worthless classes and get 10% off, I have a life insurance policy which gives me multi-line, another 10% off. I also have a 3.5 GPA, so I get 25% off for grades. Talk to a local agent and find out what kinds of things you can do to get discounts. They're out there, you just need to talk to actual people, not machines.
