remember me? thought i'd pop my head in again
hopefully a few people don't have me on ignore
anyway, nothing is final yet, but i've decided that i want to autocross a rwd v8 and after a few months of looking at cars and wavering back and forth, it looks like a new '04 GT is going to be the ticket. anyway, i'm looking forward to sharing my experiences.

heh, I don't have you on ignore... but then again I don't remember who you even are so it's all moot.
Anyway, howdy and welcome back?

Hey, long time no see! I didn't participate in many of threads you used to be in, but as soon as I saw your name, I thought to myself "Isn't that the guy that used to stir up a little sh!t around here ?". The '04 GT sounds like a cool project. I don't know much about autocrossing with them, but keep us posted.

04 GT's should really drop down in price when the 05's come out later this year.

If I were you I would go with a 99-01 cobra if road racing is your thing.
Independant rear suspension and lots more HP. A 99-01 cobra would be much cheaper than a new GT. Do it!!!

I remember you
I never had a problem with your posts, but it seems like lots of others did. Wasn't it because you had a VW and thought it was fast or something? Anyway, hope the auto crossing with a GT works out well. Let us know how it goes.

Rev, i can't really remember the reason either, but i do think that i claimed that a bolt-on vw could hang with a stock GT. i'd still claim the same thing and i was able to hang with some mustangs here and there, but i'm ready to ditch the temperamental turbo. i'm tired of having to constantly fidget with boost and timing and deal with compressor surge just to get the car to run strong.

I was goint to run AP points this year but decided not to. We ran a SS Camaro at the Comcast rainfest. I'll pit crew for him unless I feel the need to bulldoze some cones again in the Cobra. Im sure it I'll make atleast one Cobra run this year. I had way to much fun last year. Great bunch of people at the events.

if you guys like those events, you should try to make it out to nashville some time. their site is much more high horsepower car friendly. i had the little ole 186whp golf bangin' the rev limiter at the top of 2nd (a little over 70mph) going through a slalom. makes the ETR event seem boring.
