Default GT Conv. or Mach1

I'm looking at two different stangs right now

Both of them are 2003's, same miles and aprox. same price.

One of them is a red GT Convertible with automatic

The other is a blue w/ black strip Mach 1 with a 5-speed

I prefer the stick way over automatic, but a convertible would definitly be nice for summer.

Has anyone driven these cars? Any comments on which choice I should make?

Well you could get the Mach 1, but I perfer the Mach 1. Both the Mach 1 AND the Mach 1 have it's advantages.

*cough* mach 1 *cough*

I own a dark shadow grey mach and it's a blast to drive... best bang for the buck when compared to the '03 GT and Cobra, IMHO. Handles and accelerates great!

Check out: www.mach1registry.com and www.mach-1.org

Well, I test drove both of them today and the Mach 1 was _awesome_. Unfortunatly it was at a shady dealership with a shady history and for VERY shady price ($19,000 CND for a 2003 with 7000km).

However, I did find a nice one at a dealership. Same year and kilometers, good condition, and full factory warranty. I'll be checking it out again later this month but I'm pretty set on it.

Cool

Convertible hands down .... summer time, pop the top and cruise.
Wind blowing .... sun beaming .... that's California dreaming, man **SLAP*** Reality!!!!!

305 hp, awesome styling, impeccable looks and nostaglia to roast the tires!!!!

Get the Mach 1. No brainer. Heck you can rent a vert for nice days, who will let you borrow their Mach 1 for the track or those 'spirited' runs to the grocery store?

MACH1, I wouldant touch that gt w/ a 10 foot pole. Its so damn slow you might as well get a v6 and get better mileage.

We have both! I have to say the Mach 1 is way more fun to drive, but I've had convertibles since I was 19. In Florida it is the only way to go to the beach. Just get both! lol The Mach 1 is my husbands, but you'd be surprised at how much he drives my GT. ( I think he's cruising for chicks. ha ha)

I had this same debate so I think your question is a real good one. On a site like this, most all are going to say Mach 1 for the fact that most folks around hear are in to performance and not looks.

If you had the Vert and a guy pulled next to you in a Mach 1 and he tried to race, you would not even bother. But, he can't take the roof down. It's a tough choice.

The auto issue on the GT is a reall detractor for me. Put some 4.10's in a GT Vert with a 5 speed, and you are a little bit closer to the Mach, but you can play that game all night long...the modding never ends...for both cars.

Also, you live in Canada. Being from NE PA myself, the Vert is hard to enjoy for more than a few months. Find one with a 5 speed and try driving around with the top down. I have driven both a GT Vert (5 speed) and a Mach 1 and I think that's a real tough choice...to me.

Stacy's got it going on...if you ask me....she has both.

For Canada I'd have to go with the Mach. Could be interesting getting traction in the snow with all that power though.

Just bought mine on the 12th of this month. What a blast. Couldn't see spend 1000 more for less performance.
